Chapter 28 Blacephlon

Hau POV

While Gladion and (y/n) went to Melemele, while Lillie and I headed to Akala. I was honestly happy to have some time with Lillie. Since Gladion was always staring me down everyone time I got 5 feet of her. Maybe we can make it a date. Okay maybe not. Hunting an UB is a horrible date idea. Then afterwards we'll go on a date. "Hey Lillie. You want to go on a date after this?" I asked her straight forward. She clearly was surprised. "A d-date?" she blushed. I nodded "Yea. Please. I promise it will be fun" I told her. I really wanted to do this for Lillie. "Okay. How about tomorrow?" she agrees. YES! "Sounds awesome!" I celebrated. I'm going to impress Lillie's skirt off.....okay that sounded really wrong. But I was going to impress her, she won't say no when I ask her out.

Once we got to Akala, we went straight for Wela Volcano. "The report says that someone saw an odd looking creature here. It had a round head and long body with green and pink on it" Lillie read out loud. "I wonder if it really is an Ultra Beast" I said. I knew they were dangerous so if we can look around and come out empty handed, the safer it will be. Well the safer Lillie will be. Climbing up the volcano, we reached the top where the trail was. No one was here however. Kiawe must be taking the day off. The torches were still lit however. "I never been up here before" said Lillie. Small sprouts of steam could be seen off the walkway. The two of us walked to the edge of the peak. There was nothing but a fence to keep us from falling down. Lillie looked at the sights, "Wow I can see everything from up here. Isn't it great?" She commented. The sight was amazing from up here. Not to be cheesey, but the sight wasn't the only amazing thing up here. "Yea it sure is amazing.....kinda like you" I forced myself to say. For once I was nervous, even without Gladion using Glare. Lillie looked at me. she had an expression of embarrassment mixed with some surprise. "I'm not that great" she rejected herself. "Don't say that Lillie! I've seen you changed into an amazing person. Remember how shy you used to be? Then when (Y\N) came along, you had a drive to be stronger" I explained to her. It was true. She was so focused on keeping Nebby a secret, she used to keep to herself alot. After things happened with Lusamine, she took charge of herself and became more confident.  She stayed silent. "I know you know it's true Lillie! You are a strong, confident, beautiful person!" I tried to get my point across. "I guess it is true. I have changed, haven't I?" she finally agreed. However, something else seemed to be on her mind. Like she wanted to hear what I thought about her for a reason.

"Hau. I never had anyone treat me the way you do. You were always so nice to me,ever since we met. You're funny and always happy. You could brighten up anyone's day" she told me. I listened to her words carefully. Did she have something to tell me like I do? A blush appeared on her face. She tried to say something else, but it didn't seem to want to come out. I might as well say it for the both of us. "I think I know what you're getting at Lillie. I like you too. Not like friends. I mean more than friends. Like Gladion and (y

)" I said as my cheeks heated up. Lillie embraced me in a hug. Of coursed, I hugged her back just as tight. "Thank you" was all she said. However, our intimate moment wasn't going to last. Something had been watching us. "Lillie we'll continue this when we get home, okay" I told her seeing the now present threat. She took noticed of my changing body language, now more tense and defensive. "No problem. Let's do what we came here for. Clefairy and I will support you" she said. I took out a pokeball and called out Raichu. It came out surfing on its tail in midair. The UB standing across the weird was an odd shape. Sort of human like but no face. It almost reminded me of a court jester or magician. I just hope it not going to be as unpredictable. Lillie sent out her Clefairy and prepared for team battle.

"I'll take the first move. Raichu use Thunderbolt!" I ordered. Raichu launched its attack towards the UB. The UB created a mirage of itself to take the attack. That must have been Night Shade. "Clefairy use Metronome" Lillie told it. Clefairy wiggled its finger and used Hyper Voice. Clefairy let out a loud cry causing everyone to cover their ears.  The UB was unaffected. why didn't the attack hurt it? The clown beast retaliated with Shadow Ball. It fired a shadowy blob at Raichu. "Raichu dodged it and use Wild Charge" I said. Raichu quickly got out of harms way and charged up with electricity and tackled the UB. The move hit. The joker was paralyzed and couldn't move. "Lillie quick use a move before it can" I told her. She nodded. "Clerfairy use Moon Blast" she instructed. Clefairy whipped up a Moon Blast and hit the UB. "Alright we're wearing it down!" I celebrated. Maybe celebrating was a little too soon but it was progress at least. The paralysis wore off. The UB was back in business. It attack Clefairy with Fire Blast. "Clefairy hurry use Minimize" Lillie said urgently. Clefairy shrunk itself and dodge the attack. The fire whizzed past us and exploded. Lillie jumped at the warmth of the explosion. "You okay Lillie?" I asked. "I'm fire...I mean fine" she said a bit scrambled. She'll be okay, hopefully. "Raichu use Focus Blast!" I said. Raichu focused it's psychic powers and launched a ball of power. The UB used Shadow Ball to combat my attack. The two attack came close to each other, but the Shadow Ball went right through the Focus Blast! As the jester UB dodged the Focus Blast, Raichu was hit by surprise. The attack was super effective and knocked Raichu off its tail. "Raichu can you get up?" I asked. My Pokemon was inured but found the strength to get up again. Although, another Shadow Ball would knock it out for sure. "Clefairy we need to help Raichu. Use Metronome" she told it. Clefairy thought about its trainer's wished and wiggled its finger. It used Heal Pulse to cure Raichu of its injuries. Raichu sparked its cheeks at its renewed energy. "Nice one you guys!" I praised my teammates. Lillie and her Clefairy were pleased at their assistance.

"Alright UB. I'm going to end this right now and send you back home. Raichu let's show it our Z move!" I told my plan. Raichu was up for the attack. I activated my Z crystal and preformed the pose along side my Raichu. Raichu was charged up with Z power! "Raichu use Stoked Sparksurfer!" I shouted. Raichu flew into the air, charging itself with huge amounts of electricity. It came down surfing on it's tail and collided with the UB in an explosion of thunder bolts. The force of the attack cracked the earth. Raichu returned to my side, proud of its attack. When the dust had cleared, the UB was motionless on the ground. I breathed a sigh of relief.

"We did it Lillie!" I cheered. She was happy as well. "That was a bit scary but I was glad to have been here with you" she smiled. I smiled back at her. "good job Raichu. Return" I gave my Pokemon some needed rest. Lillie had also recalled Clefairy. the two of us turned to walked down the volcano but then I remember something. "Wasn't the UB suppose to retreat back through a hole? But shouldn't knocking it out be enough?" I froze. "Hau!" Lillie had alerted me. I turned to see her staring at the UB, that was standing back up again. Not good! Not good! The UB took off its own head and held it in its hands. Don't tell me that it was going to throw it at us. The UB raised its hand and launched its head at us. I quickly grabbed Lillie's hand and pulled her underneath my body, using myself as a shield. I closed my eyes and waited for something to happen. A loud firework like pop went off and I felt nothing but an explosion of fierce heat on my back. I  screamed in pain harder than I ever did before in my life. I didn't know what had happened. Things suddenly became dizzy. Lillie came out from underneath me. I heard her scream but didn't know why. "Hau! Your back! Are you okay?! Hau!" she tried speaking to me. However, words didn't want to come out. I tried to feel for anything on my body. Lillie tired moving me and that's when the pain hit me. My whole back felt like it was on fire. I groaned as she lied me down on my stomach. I could hear her panicking but I couldn't say anything. My back hurt too much. Lillie had taken out her phone and called somebody. I wasn't really paying attention. " We're at the trail site on Wela Volcano! Please hurry! His back....it's burned really badly" she told the person on the phone. That kinda explained why my back burned like magma. What did that UB do to me? if that would've hit Lillie....I don't want to even think about it. I'd rather be the one in pain, which I am, but it was worth risking myself for.
