Thank god after a long day of work I am able to just relax and take a peaceful bath. Luckily everyone in this house has a more hectic schedule than me and is sleep. Scrolling down Instagram hearting a few pictures I hear a message chime off the app.
Dleyman1 "Unless you're plannin on bailin tmrw I'm going to need ur number".
I'm so not use to even getting any guy's attention at that Danny Leyman the hottest guy in our damn community. I'm still trying to soak all this in as I take a deep breath setting my phone aside. I place it on the edge of the tub as I close my eyes, I slowly begin sinking more into the water when I hear another message chime.
Dleyman1 "If we're going to do this lil roommate thing we're going to have to communicate whether you hate it as much as I do".
"Yeah you're telling me don't remind me" I scoff as I ignore his message for a second rinsing off. I then I dry my hands with a towel and reopen it I start typing, I think to myself for a second back spacing as I bite my lip doing it again not replying.
Dleyman1 "Are you always this indecisive?"
I sit up laughing to myself as I whisper under my breath "Not as dumb as I thought you were".
I finally fight the urge to not reply and reply my number taking a deep breath. I close my eyes for a second relaxing opening them again to another message chime.
Dleyman1 "👍🏻"
4:30 PM THE NEXT DAY
Waiting in my car in front of the first apartment waiting on Danny I sigh looking down on my phone. "He better show up" I say under my breath to myself as I look in the car mirror running my fingers through my hair. I rub my lip gloss together on my lips as I sit back enjoying the sunshine sipping my frappe from Starbucks.
I check time on my phone getting impatient as I slide my sunglasses up back into my hair, I see a car speed up and park. "God slow down and save a life why don't you" I say to myself seeing Danny pull up getting out his car finishing a cigarette with one hand in his pocket.
I bite my lip seeing how handsome he looks and got to go apartment searching. He was dressed with white vans on and his hair looks blow dried to the perfect curls, his shirt probably doesn't have one wrinkle in it. I see him catch me stare as I hurry up and pull my mirror down trying to block my face watching him walk over.
"Shit" I say under my breath taking a deep breath as he knocks on my window I slowly roll it down.
"Oh hey you're here" I said fake smiling blinking a few times. He then leans on my window seal with his forearms looking at me as he shuts one eye in the sun. "You gonna sit and bird watch people all day or what?" he scoffed under his breath as I gulped embarrassed I nod knowing he saw me checking him out as he opens my door "Come on" he said.
He steps back looking at my car folding his arms. "A Honda let me guess 2012?" He laughs a little as I roll my eyes adjusting my purse. "Actually 2011 but close" I said as he nods up pouting his bottom lip out a little as I then look over at his car. "Looks really nice looks fast and um smooth" I say "quite the car".
I smile folding my arms as he puts his hands in his pockets looking at his car then me.
"Thank u graduation present" He says as he rubs up his arm I notice all his tattoos and try not to stare. We then stare at each other for a quick moment as he clears his throat looking down smirking small, he slowly looks up at me raising his eyebrows.
I then snap out of it "Ah um right let's go" I pause then continue. "Room mate" I exhale clearing my throat as I press my lips together, I quote with my fingers in the most awkward way possible smiling small. "Flattered" He mumbled walking in front of me as he begins walking across the street he stops looking both ways.
"Ever heard of a belt?" I yell as he looks over his shoulder squinting his eyes in the sun. "Yeah yeah cmon Myers" he responded as I smile following him to our first apartment. He opens the door moving aside letting me walk in first, I guess he can be a gentleman sometimes?
He's not fooling me as I look around immediately loving the living room. I see a pretty red head who looks maybe in her early 20's coming down the stairs with a huge smile on her face as I notice her heels and short dress.
"Hello i'm Megan i'll be showing you around the apartment!" She introduced herself obnoxiously.
As I look at her smiling then over at Danny who's practically checking her out tilting his head. Is he serious right now? I slap him in the chest as he tenses up folding his arms, he then clears his throat putting his hand out for the woman to shake it.
"Daniel um Leyman" He smirked small "Call me Danny" He insisted while introducing hisself.
She then shook his hand with a flirtatious facial expression. "Nice to meet you and you're-?" She asked as I cut her off beginning to address who I am. I then looked at Danny as he looked at me "Friends-" I cut off stuttering "Room mates" I said as Danny cuts me off blurting out "Lab partner" He says.
I slowly look over at him as he rubs the back of his neck gulping shrugging. "Well whatever you two are let's show you around why don't we?" She implies smiling as we begin to follow her I walk closely to him folding my arms. "Lab partner?" I whisper rolling my eyes.
"You think I could get her number?" He whispered as I laugh back nudging him shaking my head.
Looking around the apartment i'm already liking what I see from the looks of the neighborhood it looks pretty peaceful as well. Maybe this isn't that hard after all we turn into the dining room then kitchen as I walk around observing Danny whistles looking around.
I turn to Megan "I love this place already everything seems perfect truly WOW" I exhale smiling as she stands aside. "Let's look up at the upstairs shall we" She suggests nodding. I look over at my shoulder motioning Danny to come on with my hand as he rolls his eyes following us upstairs.
We turn into one of the bedrooms as Danny bumps past me walking in looking around it. I exhale slowly shaking my head standing leaning against the door frame with Megan.
"This is nice" he nods looking at me then Megan. "Are these walls hallow?" He asked as she blinks a few times a bit confused as I put my hand over my mouth laughing a little at his sarcasm.
"I am unsure but if you would like me to look into it I can Mr Leyman" She insisted as I watch him observing the room he looks up at the ceiling.
"Call me Danny" He mumbled with his hands in his pockets smirking small as she nodded a bit flushed patiently watching him.
She must of been overwhelmed by his sarcastic flirting i'm starting not think he's not that bad he can actually be pretty funny. I walk away going to look at the other bedroom as I notice a beautiful view out the window. I decide to sit on the ledge and enjoy the weather this would most certainly be my room. As i'm looking out the window I see a car pull up with girls in it as I squint my eyes confused. "Great sorority sisters" I say under my breath blocking the sun with my hand.
I notice no other than Danny jogging out to the car as I sigh trying to sit back not making myself that noticeable while peeking. I then see him lean in the car of the window and get kissed on the cheek by one of the girls, I roll my eyes not surprised. Shortly I notice the car pull off and Danny getting into his car pulling off following it, he really left me apartment searching by myself he completely ditched me.
I look down at my ring playing with it for a quick second when I hear Megan.
"Did you like what you see? I think your frie-" I cut her off. "We aren't friends" I state as I get up walking past her as she moves out the way. I'm a idiot to think I could ever get along with a complete good looking guy. He's right i'm not his type that is very clear as I walk out the apartment and call Sarah she doesn't answer so I get into my car and pull off driving to the nearest dock.
I sit in my car staring at the water I soon feel a tear drop down my face about how I ever thought I was even up to being friendship standards with Danny Leyman. I'm just a little stressed out about life right now as I look down deleting his number out my phone and blocking him on social media.
I want no parts of a room mate anymore it's time to do this on my own I'll apply for jobs tomorrow, Can we say bye summer?
