"Don't get yourself into something you can't finish" He mumbled lighting a cigarette as I studied the tattoo on his hand. "Room mate" He scoffed bumping past me as I realized his presence was like a drug and I was addicted.
"I'm coming sh sh sh I'm coming" I mumbled under my breath shaking a bottle as I rubbed my eye pacing back to Caydens room. "Shhhh" I said as I picked him up slowly blinking a few times waking up. This shit wasn't as easy as it looked or sounded I've hardly been getting any sleep. I been maintaining work while Kate rested and took care of Cayden in the morning and during the day.
"There you go" I whispered under my breath as Cayden clenched onto his bottle drinking it as I tilted it up a little more. "See all better" I whispered trying to keep my eyes opened as I yawned raising my eyebrows. I had work at eight AM and right now it was three-thirty AM and I was fucking exhausted but nobody said this shit would be easy. As I sat down in Caydens rocking chair feeding him I decided to rest my eyes for a second as I tilted my head back against the seat slowly rocking the chair. "You're gonna play baseball and basketball possibly hockey" I mumbled with my eyes closed talking to Cayden. "I mean all sports if you want" I scoffed. "I played them all but football was my favorite" I took a deep breath opening my eyes looking down at him.
"Sneak all the hot chicks in" I scoffed looking down at my son admiring him for a moment. "You'll never have to fear or need anything I promise I give you my word" I mumbled as Cayden and I made intense eye contact. "I promise" I smiled small tilting the bottle up a little more as I managed to stay awake. I yawned over my shoulder tilting my head back closing my eyes for a moment rocking Cayden waiting for him to finish his bottle as I tilted my head on my shoulder.
"Babe" I heard Kate whisper as I tried fighting my sleep to wake up hearing her voice. "Hm" I mumbled with my eyes closed folding my arms exhaling deeply nodding up a little. "Shit" I woke up instantly looking down at my arms seeing Cayden in Kate's being burped. "Fuck" I exhaled rubbing my eyes as I rubbed my hands down my face. "What time is it?" I asked. "My bad I must of fell asleep" I exhaled licking my lips pushing my curls back. "Its fine" She whispered smiling patting Caydens back. "You were only sleep for a few minutes" She scoffed. "Yeah but he could of choked or threw up" I exhaled rubbing the back of my head a bit disappointed in myself. "Fuck man" I whispered under my breath.
"Babe it's fine really stop being so hard on yourself he is fine" She said as I blinked a few times waking up looking down at my phone to stretching. "He needs a bath" I mumbled checking the time on my phone yawning. "I gotta shower and go soon" I said placing my hands on my head looking at Kate. "We can shower with you?" She offered as I scoffed pecking Caydens head then hers walking past her. "I love you" I mumbled waking out the room as I began walking to the bathroom to start a shower.
As I set my phone onto the sink turning the bathroom light on I flexed rubbing my hand up my chest. I began running my shower water as I leaned against the wall with my eyes closed for a second waiting for the water to heat up. I soon heard Cayden crying as I raised my eyebrows looking over my shoulder at Katelyn holding him naked. "Babe he's probably cold" I mumbled checking the water temperature quickly as she walked past me getting in the shower before me. "He'll probably like the shower" Kate said as I looked in the shower leant against the wall watching her hold Cayden against her chest.
"Careful" I mumbled. "His circumcision" I said raising my eyebrows as I began getting undressed. "Babe the water won't hurt him" Kate laughed a little as I was a bit concerned. "Yeah well you never know" I mumbled stepping in sliding the door shut as I waved my hand through my hair. I smiled small looking at Kate and my son standing under the water as he balled up into her neck. "He's so cute dude" I scoffed rubbing up my arm. "He's just so little" I mumbled rubbing his back gently moving by Kate.
"I just love him" I scoffed as Kate laughed a little supporting his head. "Here" She said handing him to me slowly. "Whoa whoa whoa" I whispered under my breath as I raised my eyebrows moving my hand behind his head taking him in my arms. I got a bit nervous as I shrugged my shoulders up holding him close to my chest. "He makes me nervous" I mumbled looking down at him. "You're fine" Kate smiled watching me ringing out her hair as I scoffed smiling small at Cayden. "Babe he's cold his lip is quivering" I said pouting my bottom lip out feeling bad as Kate adjusted the water I took some in my hands gently rubbing it up his back.
"Cayden" She whispered smiling as she tickled the tip of his nose lightly he cracked a smile I scoffed staring at her closely. "What?" She laughed a little. "Nothing" I mumbled shaking my head pouting out my bottom lip. At that moment I realized how deeply in love I was with this woman and how I couldn't picture myself with anyone else but Kate. "Why are you looking at me like that?" She laughed a little rubbing her hair back wiping under her eyes. "You're just pretty I don't know" I scoffed looking at her shrugging as she rolled her eyes turning away washing up.
I glanced at her head to toe then back at Cayden carefully beginning to wash him up as he peeked his eyes opened I scoffed smiling small. "Here I'll take him so you can finish" Kate offered putting her hands out as I carefully gave her our son. "I'll dress him" She said stepping out as I opened the door for her. "Here come here" I mumbled grabbing a towel off the rack as I reached out the shower wrapping it around them. "Turn this way" I said as Kate turned slowly for me to wrap it around. "I love you" Kate turned puckering her lips out as I narrowed my eyes pecking them. "I love you too" I said smiling small sliding the door shut finishing my shower.
My life felt beyond complete at this moment it was like the entire world has been placed into my hands. Nothing could compare or describe how magical the feeling was with Kate and Cayden.
"What are you doing?" I scoffed putting on my shirt walking out the bathroom seeing Kate do Caydens hair. "What? He has nice hair" She laughed rubbing lotion together on her hands. "Leave my sons hair alone dude" I mumbled shaking my head as she laughed a little spiking it up. "Stop chill" I laughed a little rubbing it down as she smacked my hand.
"That's gay" I mumbled. "Oh stop he's a baby" She laughed a little playing with his toes as he was full awake. "I wish I didn't have work man" I exhaled laying down on the bed next to Cayden messing with his fingers. "And I think he's allergic to that lotion or something" I mumbled grabbing the bottle reading the back of it.
"Why?" Kate asked moving her eyebrows down. "Because he had like a little rash I noticed the other day" I licked my lips tossing the lotion. "Or maybe the powder?" Kate exhaled looking at Cayden. "He has a dr appointment coming up soon anyways" She said as I looked over at Cayden. "He looks just like me it's insane" I raised my eyebrows scoffing. "Like identical" I said waving my hand through my hair smiling small. "Yeah I know" Kate laughed a little.
"I gotta go" I exhaled getting up as I placed my hands on the bed with Caydens head between my arms hovering over him. "See you later bud" I pecked his head. "Text or FaceTime me on break" Kate said as I cuffed the back of her neck with my hand kissing her. "I got you I will promise love you" I said leaving on my way to work. "Love you" Kate yelled as I continued to walk down the hallway downstairs.
Damn I'm officially a dad Lol.
