Chapter 53 Angel

"Do you have everything?" I looked over my shoulder inside the car as I sipped my ice coffee setting it in the cup holder. After hours of gathering information and talking to staff at Danny's moms facility we were able to contact the adoption parents of his sister. Luckily they were very understanding people and mindful enough to let Danny meet his 6 year old sister despite the disclosure. It was going to take us a few hours to drive to where they stayed but I was all for supporting Danny.

"I think" He mumbled looking around the car as he started it, He placed his hand on the back of my seat looking over his shoulder reversing out the driveway raising his eyebrows. I began to get comfortable as I reclined my seat back for the long drive covering up with a blanket. "Are you excited?" I asked looking at Danny as I tilted my head against seat. "More nervous I don't know" He shrugged with one hand on the wheel paying attention to the road as he leaned back. "Just don't want things to backfire" He mumbled rubbing his eye. "Don't hope for the worst" I exhaled placing my feet on the dash board looking out the window as we got on the highway.

After a hour of driving Danny stopped to get some gas as I used the bathroom, Finishing up washing my hands I walked out looking around the store down the isles. I swiped my hands dry against my back pockets as I grabbed some snacks seeing Danny at the register buying a Gatorade. "Here" I smiled small piling my stuff on the counter with his drink as he looked at me for a second. "Love you" I laughed a little rubbing my hand across his back as he shook his head I began walking out the store back to the car.

Waiting patiently I watched Danny walking out the store as I smiled small as he got in. "Here fat ass damn" He said with sarcasm as he tossed the bag at me I laughed catching it. "Geesh" I scoffed going through it as Danny untwisted his Gatorade cap drinking some. We then began driving for a hour or so steady on the road as I enjoyed the view out the window. I began hearing a familiar song that I loved begin to play as I dropped my mouth gasping.

"You have this song on your phone?!" I asked in excitement sitting up as Danny smiled small shaking his head. "Dude it's Elliot Yamin it's a classic" He scoffed turning it up slowly as I closed my eyes smiling listening. "Ugh such a great song" I exhaled running my fingers through my hair, Danny began slowly nodding to the song while driving as I watched him closely smiling. He began mouthing the words making funny dramatic facial expressions as I began cracking up hearing him sing. I tilted my head back against my seat. "Noooo" I laughed touching his arm.

"So baby I will wait for you" Danny glanced over at me singing as he touched my shoulder sarcastically then looked back at the road. "Cause I don't know what else I can do" He laughed between singing trying to keep a straight face looking at the road. "Don't tell me I ran out of time" He glanced at me then the road smiling big to where his dimples were imprinted in his cheeks as he ran his hand through my hair. "If it takes the rest of my life" He sang rubbing his hand down my jawline gently as I rolled my eyes.

I was laughing so hard I wiped underneath my eye that was watering as he was really singing "Wait for you" By Elliott Yamin. He continued driving as he laughed to hisself focusing on the road licking his lips. "Oh my god stop" I exhaled trying to catch my breath. "Why can't you look at me?" He sang as he turned my face to him I grabbed his hand kissing it. "You're still in love with me" He sang raising his eyebrows nodding with confidence as I rolled my eyes. "Don't leave me crying" He sang laughing in between as I laughed pushing his hand away.

"Baby why can't we just" He paused then continued. "Just start over again" He licked his lips singing as he pushed my face away I laughed slapping his arm. "STOP" I smiled shaking my head.
"Get it back to the way it was" He continued singing high pitched trying to hit a high note as we both bursted out laughing. "I cannot breathe" I exhaled rubbing my hands down my face as I turned the song down. Danny scoffed smiling small as he focused on driving I slowly went to grab his hand as he slapped mine pulling his away.
