CHAPTER 15 His soft spot

I was finishing up closing up at work sighing pacing I finished counting my drawer as I look around double checking if everything is good. I grab my car keys shutting off the lights putting my purse over my shoulder walking out locking up behind myself. Walking to my car I look down at my phone smiling small reading a cute text from Jake.

Jake via text  "Looking forward to seeing you.."

I laugh a little stopping in front of my car as I bite my lip smiling replying.

Me via text "See you there love".

I reply putting my phone in my purse as I shut the door starting my car, I begin to pull off driving home to get ready while driving I decide to turn up the radio. I smile small exhaling after a long day at work running my fingers through my hair enjoying the wind. I take a stop at the stop sign my phone goes off I connect to Bluetooth seeing Sarah's face pop up on the screen.

(Phone Bluetooth Speaker)

Me "Hey I'm on my way home now." I focus on driving.
Sarah "Ok hurry up!! I can't wait to have some fun tonight!"
ME "Byeeeee i'll see you there" hanging up the phone tapping my system screen in car.

I slowly sit up pulling into the driveway turning the radio down as I park getting out I grab my purse and phone running inside rushing to get dressed for Jake's party. I slam the door behind me rushing upstairs into my room as I shut the door taking my hair down. I then throw my purse on the bed going through my closest moving hangers over debating what to wear.

I see a white short dress I bought a couple months ago that I never wore or had the right occasion to wear to. Raising my eyebrows grabbing it holding it up to myself I shrug tossing it on the bed "Perfect".
I open my bedroom door running down the hall into the bathroom shutting the door quickly as possible.
I figure Danny is already at the party being the house is quiet I don't lock the door, I begin to take a quick shower washing up rinsing off.

I slide the shower curtain over stepping out wrapping a towel around myself beginning to quickly blow dry my hair as I hear the bathroom door open I jump moving aside. "Oh shit" Danny opens the door glancing at me then slowly shuts it halfway talking against it. "My bad um you're going to Jake's I assume?" He rubs his forehead talking against the door.

"I thought you weren't home so I didn't lock it it's alright but yeah I am are you?" I asked him turning the blow dryer off for a second as he leans against the door with it halfway open holding the door knob.
"Nah i'm gonna skip and hang out here tonight just chill i'm tired" He mumbled yawning as I run my fingers through my hair holding my towel up as I peek outside the door. "Everything okay you sure?" I asked concerned.

He began to rub his eyes as he raises his eyebrows rubbing his hand through his curls looking away.
"Yeah um just call me if you need a ride alright have fun be safe" He glanced over at me then away.
He slowly let's go of the door knob walking to his room as I watch him walk away smiling small enjoying how good we're finally getting along.
"No worries I won't do anything you wouldn't do" I yell laughing a little getting a thumbs up from him in return with no eye contact as he walked into his room, I shut the door and continue to get ready straightening my hair.

I walk out the bathroom with my hair and make up done already down to my room. I open the door shutting it slipping into my dress moving my hips side to side as I adjust it up pulling it up from my chest leaning over to slip my heels on.
I push my hair to the side grabbing my phone and purse walking out into the hallway, I stop looking down at my phone not seeing anymore texts from Jake. I sigh turning around to go tell Danny goodbye I begin walking to his room where the door is open.
