I couldn't believe or fathom Jakes behavior let alone if it was over me, I never wanted to come between Jake and Danny's friendship. Danny's been in the hospital with a concussion and still hasn't woken up yet. I've been calling off work because I can't sleep, eat or think straight so I took some time off to be at Danny's side.
Jake's been blowing me up with apologies and has visited Danny a few times, He feels extremely bad for what he has done. He needs to take full responsibility and accountability of his actions at this point. I'm unsure how Danny will feel once he wakes up and realizes he's been in a concussion but I must admit I was nervous.
"Hey" I exhaled walking into Danny's hospital room seeing the nurse as I set my purse down slowly. "How's everything today?" I asked walking over to the bed placing my hand over Danny's. "He's been flicking his eyes" The nurse said adjusting his IV.
"I think he's going to wake sooner then we predicted" She smiled small. "He should have a full normal recovery" She whispered under her breath.
"Thank god" I exhaled rubbing his curls back looking at him. "Yeah perfect eye sight, normal memory all the good stuff" She said as I smiled small feeling relieved nodding listening. "He's also been moving his fingers and feet" She laughed a little opening some blinds as I laughed. "Well that's amazing" I gulped folding my arms. "He will be perfectly back to normal in no time" She said touching my shoulder lightly. "Thank you" I nodded smiling as she left the room quietly shutting the door.
"Hey" I exhaled sitting down pulling a chair next to Danny as I bit my lip nervously. "I miss you" I whispered under my breath touching his hand gently. "Things aren't the same without you here" I whispered staring at him as his eyes flickered I raised my eyebrows.
I was completely broken and felt empty fathoming the feeling of not having Danny here at all. It was a experience and feeling that was traumatizing me deep down. I never want to go through something like this with anyone I love and care about especially Danny. I loved him so much it was killing me and breaking my heart everyday to look at him so not full life and normal.
"I love you" I exhale pressing my lips together. "Wake up" I whispered rubbing my thumb over his hand softly. "I know you're stronger than this" I blinked a few times fighting back some tears. "You can't do this to me I need you here" I pressed his hand up against my cheek closing my eyes thinking to myself for a moment.
I suddenly felt his fingers twitch as I opened my eyes looking at him. "I know you can hear me" I gulped kissing his hand. "Wake up" I whispered under my breath with my lips against his hand with hope. His hand then squeezed mine a little as I raised my eyebrows in shock. "You're fighting" I gasped laughing a little in excitement. "Keep fighting come on I know you hear me" I sniffled squeezing his hand as I stared at him holding his hand to my heart.
The door then opened as Cameron, Jake and Sarah walked in.
"He's fighting!" I jumped up in excitement as I pushed my hair back running my fingers through it.
"Whoa sh chill calm down" Cameron said setting some flowers and balloons down quietly. "Kate are you alright?" Sarah said crossing her arms as I gave her a dirty look. "What? you guys don't believe me?" I placed my hands on my hips looking at them. "We believe you I just think you need to relax" Cameron said as I rolled my eyes shaking my head.
"He's moving his eyes and feet" I gulped looking at Danny then back at them. "I was talking to him and he squeezed my hand" I wiped underneath my eye as Cameron slowly stepped to me hugging me. "We all want Danny to wake up" He mumbled as I sniffled nodding holding onto him tightly. "Just gotta be patient" He whispered as I nodded exhaling slowly letting go.
"How long have you been here?" Jake asked as I glared at him in disgust. "I just got here not that long ago" I slowly looked over at Danny smiling small with hope. "Are they taking good care of him?" Sarah asked exhaling as she sat down next to Danny's legs.
"Yeah the nurses are phenomenal" I scoffed smiling small slowly sitting down.
