"Is Danny playing today?" Sarah asked as we walked into the ice arena. "He should be" I exhaled looking around as we walked along the bleachers. Today the city's community hockey team was playing to raise money for the children's school books. Danny's been really distant with me since our trip hearing the bad news about his sister. Things have been a bit shitty and complicated as I was always getting ignored again, At this point I was living day by day slowly dealing with the heart break.
"I see Jake" Sarah said pointing as I looked over at Jake getting onto the ice. "How are you two anyways?" Sarah asked eating some popcorn. "We're fine" I shrugged looking around seeing Cameron and Jake messing around. "Hey cheer up I'm sure Danny will show" Sarah nudged me with her elbow as she looked down at her phone.
"I hope he signed up" I whispered under my breath as I messed with my ring on my finger. "What's up!" Cameron yelled raising his arms skating over to the glass. "Show off" Sarah yelled enclosing her hands around her mouth as I laughed a little shaking my head. I began to watch Jake practice on the ice with other team mates as he was pretty good it was impressive.
"Is Leyman showing or what?" Cameron asked as I shrugged. "Haven't heard from him I just know he signed up" I exhaled looking around. "If he doesn't play were screwed" Cameron said shaking his head as he skated backwards away. "Danny's awesome at hockey by the way" Sarah said as I raised my eyebrows interested. "Really?" I laughed a little.
"I use to watch him play all the time" She paused then continued. "I mean he's had his fair share of fights and getting benched for poor sportsmanship but he's a beast" She said with laughter as I smiled small. As the other team began getting on the ice a buzzer went off as I sighed looking forward to seeing Danny play. The door then slammed as I looked over seeing Danny walk in his hockey uniform carrying his equipment and god did he look hot. "Nice head band" Sarah yelled smiling as Danny smirked with his mouth piece in as we made eye contact he looked away and continued walking. I never seen him wear his curls back with a head band but I must admit it was adorable.
"Let's go" Cameron yelled raising his arms as I bit my lip watching Danny. "I'm coming" He yelled putting his helmet on getting ready to play as I smiled small reading his number on his jersey.
He got onto the ice smoothly skating over to the team like a professional, He skated on that ice like it was the easiest thing in the world. As the game began I sat up in excitement paying attention as I cheered on the boys.
"What number is Danny?" Sarah yelled over the crowd cheering. "Fourteen" I yelled back clapping paying attention to the game. Danny then scored as me and Sarah stood up cheering him on, I loved watching him play coming to find out he's amazing at hockey.Thirty minutes into the game there was a intermission and the boys were in the locker room taking a break. They were winning and putting up a fight against the opposite team. Danny was definitely their star player now it made sense on why they needed him. "Excuse me" I smiled small passing some people on the bleachers with a drink from the concession stand. "What'd I miss?" I sat down exhaling asking Sarah who was applying some lipgloss. "They're just playing around" She laughed a little as I smiled small watching Danny goofing around on the ice.
Danny then was looking my way slowly skating backwards. "He's looking at you" Sarah whispered as I raised my eyebrows looking at Danny. "Is he?" I squinted my eyes for a second curiously. Danny then slowly skated over to the glass lifting his face shield on his helmet up. "Come here" He raised his voice saying as I smiled small getting up sipping my drink as I walked down off the bleachers. "Hey" I laughed a little sliding my fingertips against the glass walking over to Danny.
