Chapter 2

Muskaan's POV:

I was staring right back at him! Akash Malhotra! It was him! My Aki! The one who I never wanted to see again! To be honest, he looked equally as shocked as I was. We just stood there staring at each other. None of us had the guts to say anything to each other after what had happened...
"Makhi?" He asked with curiosity
"It's me." I replied plainly. I didn't want to keep talking to him. I wanted to avoid him as much as possible. I didn't want myself to go through all the pain and misery again.
"Listen Makhi, I am sorry!" He said
"It's okay!" I replied without any emotion. I was deeply hurt due to what he had done.
"That's it? Don't you want to ask me anything? After what happened?" He asked with concern
"No. You were my past and right now we are in the future so let's get right down to business. Shall we Mr.Malhotra?" I asked, tears already forming in my eyes. I wanted to run away and hide! I couldn't though! I had to face my past.
"Okay...Ms.Thakur" He said seriously.
"So, may I ask if there is anything I can do for you?" I asked
"Only if you want to. If you want to quit....I won't stop you." Akash replied
"I choose to keep my personal and professional life separate. So I will try to help you as you are my client" I said professionally.
"Well then, so Ms.Thakur, we have requested that you would be our lawyer for any legal matters that come up. By the looks of it, you are here to stay. Welcome to Malhotra Industries!" Akash said in a businessman tone.
"Yes I am. Now is there anything you need of me currently, or am I free to leave?" I asked
"No, nothing at the moment. You may leave." Akash said
"Thank you." I replied and turned to leave.
"Wait Makhi... I mean Ms.Thakur. You don't have to come every day. We will call you once we need you." Akash said calmly.
"Okay" I said and started walking again.

I went downstairs, tears forming in my eyes, I didn't want to let them down yet...not when I am in the same building as HIM!
"Ms.Thakur are you alright?" The receptionist asked
"Yes, I'm fine, thank you!" I said and walked away quickly.

I exited the building of the famous Malhotra Industries and as soon as I got into my car... I started to cry....no weep! I couldn't believe that I just met Akash.....my Aki, I didn't even say hello properly, I didn't even ask how were his parents, no! I just got straight into business! I wanted to say so much to him! I wanted to ask why did he do that to me! I wanted to ask so much! I sat there in my car weeping for a good 20 minutes and then called Guddi.

"Hello!" Guddi asked from the other end
"G...Guddi! We need to meet up! Y...you don't know what just happened." I said in a weak voice
"Makhi! Are you okay! Where are you?" She asked
"I'm fine! Guddi, just meet me at our meeting spot! Call Virat too." I said as I ended the call.

I then quickly took off to our meeting spot. This was basically a small little pond, surrounded by tall green trees, it had two benches to sit on. It was a beautiful place....it's where you used to meet up with him....
I then realized that I had already reached the meeting spot...probably didn't realize due to my thoughts.
I got there only to see him!
Why? Why was he there! Wait....is...is he crying? I should go ask! No! It's okay.....
I then quickly called Shagun and told her that we were not meeting up at our spot, we will meet up at the park near my house.
I went to the park near my house...but all this time
I was just thinking on why? Why was HE of all people crying? I thought he had no heart!

"Oye! Makhi what happened?" Shagun and Virat quickly came up to my car and broke my chain of thoughts.
I got out of the car and told them everything!

"So, what are you going to do now?" Virat asked with concern.
"I don't know. All I know is that, I am not going to quit!" I said with determination
"Yeah! Don't quit! You show him, that after what he did to you, you didn't break...not one bit!" Shagun said. Her eyes were beaming with anger.
"Okay Guddi! Calm down!" Virat said, acting like a teacher trying to calm a grade 1 student.
I just started laughing my heart out. Shagun looked mad! She was so angry at Virat, but she was laughing at the same time.
"Virat! You idiot! I hate you sooo much!" Shagun said as she began chasing Virat in the park.
I just looked at them while laughing, and I thought...
"This is what friends are for! To make you laugh when you are down!" I just continued laughing and enjoying my day...
