Chapter 4

Third person's POV:  THE PAST.....

Morni college , this was the college where it all started and ended. The group of 4 friends (Virat, Shagun, Muskaan and Akash) used to attend this college. They were a very mischievous bunch! Always getting yelled at by their teachers, but always getting the best marks!

The final year of college. This was a very special year for the 4 friends. Let's see what events this year brought.....

"Oh god! It is already 8:00 am! College starts in 20 minutes! Where is he?" Shagun asked while looking at her watch.
The 3 friends were sitting outside their college waiting for Virat, they knew he was always late, but they were friends, so they were bound to worry.
"Wow! You seem worried!" Muskaan teased. She already knew that her friend had a little soft corner for Virat, so why shouldn't she take advantage of the situation?
"Shut up! Look at the time! We should all get going!" Shagun said angrily
"Hang on a few minutes Guddi! He will show up" Akash said calmly.
Suddenly they saw a boy running at full speed towards them....it was Virat!
"There comes the hero!" Muskaan said sarcastically
"Y...Yeah...I...I...I am here! I...k...k...knew... that...you...you guys would w...wait for me!" Virat said while trying to catch his breath.
"Okay let's go now that looser is here!" Shagun said as she quickly walked away.
"Guddi! Come on! I'm not a loser! The way I ran, I would have outrun a cheetah!" Virat defended himself
"Yeah right! Outrun a cheetah! Idiots will be idiots!" Shagun said as she went to her class. The three friends were left walking to their own respective classes.
"So, why were you late?" Akash asked with a grin.
"It's a long story. I will surely tell you at recess!" Virat said with a frown
"It's probably not even 2 minutes long! Just admit that you want to tell the story in front of Shagun!" Muskaan teased
"Yeah! I do actually! You got a problem?" Virat asked in an annoyed tone
"Look at this one! Not even ashamed to admit that...." Akash said while clicking his tongue.
"Okay! Whatever! Your classes are here! So go!" Virat said as he pushed them to their classes.

At recess....

"So? Why were you late?" Muskaan asked
"So, it all began at 7:00 in the morning when I got downstairs after I got ready for school."
"Wait! You woke up at 7:00? Then why were you late!" Shagun asked, she was clearly confused
"Will you let me explain?" Virat asked. After noticing that everyone was quiet and paying attention, he continued
"I went downstairs for breakfast, noticing that there was nothing on the table, I asked my mom to make me something. She being her highly superstitious self said that she wasn't supposed to cook anything until 7:05 in the morning. So I said okay, and I filled up my water bottle and packed yesterday's left overs for lunch. When I looked at the clock, it was 7:05 am so I asked my mom to make me breakfast. She got up and went into the kitchen and made me a regular jam sandwich and gave me a glass of milk. As soon as I was about to put the sandwich in my mouth, my mom said that I wasn't supposed to eat anything until 7:07. I was like...okay, then I realized that she said that I couldn't eat anything so then I took my glass of milk and chugged it. My mom yelled at me for doing that. She said that now I had to wait until 7:11 to eat my sandwich. I was so annoyed, so as soon as the clock struck 7:11 I devoured the sandwich in less than a minute, I didn't want to wait so that she would say something about some pooja, or going to some aunties house for lunch, so I sprinted for the door! Then suddenly my sister Ishita had to stop me and mess up my hair, and talk to me non stop for a good 5 minutes about her fiancé.... your brother Guddi! I was in a hurry since it was already 7:18, and I had to start walking to college at 7:20 otherwise I would be late. So I said goodbye to Ishita di and was about to open the door to get out when..."
"Your mom had to say 'don't go yet! Wait for 1 minute do one jumping jack and then go' a.m. I right?" Akash interrupted. They all burst into laughter, after a while Virat continued....
"She told me to wait for another 5 minutes as Jupiter was nearing Saturn and if I go out after 5 minutes then I will have a good day, but if I didn't wait, then I would bump into a vegetable vendor, fall flat on my face and hit my heat on a mud pot! I already knew that this was nonsense but just for my dear mummy, I waited 5 minutes. It was 7:25 and I had to sprint to get to college on time." Virat finished. He wiped his fake tears
"...wow I can't believe that you have to deal with all that...." Shagun said
"I know....impressed right?" Virat asked
"Ugh! No, not really!" Shagun said sarcastically

The days went on during the college year, it was nearing the end of the year when someone Muskaan hated decided to show up....
