Muskaan's POV: The present time

It has been a day since Arya came to my house and we told her the truth. I was always scared of what she might do if she figured out what had happened. Thankfully though, she didn't react so harshly. She said that she would go resign from his company, I believe she did...that's what she told me at least.

Right now I'm on my way to court, you guessed it right! Today is the day I deal with the acid gang! I am sooooo excited please do note the sarcasm. I have studied and verified the case like over 10 times and I am pretty sure that we will get the justice we deserve...well Ms.Averna Rai deserves.

I was waiting outside the courtroom waiting for my client. Although I had a case to fight in like 10 minutes, I couldn't stop thinking about Virat's weird behaviour. I know it is wrong to doubt your friends but me being a lawyer...it's like suspicion is a part of me...and I'm not just making false allegations cause I have proof!

1) Shagun and Virat supposedly work in the same company, although when I asked Shagun how Virat and her manage to get work done without bickering, she said that she has never seen him at work.
2) Virat always uses the excuse that his mother is calling him with some necessary items for her pooja, but does she always call him? Does every phone call have to do something with his mother's superstitious personality? I..I don't think so.
3) When Arya said that she was going to resign from her position as receptionist, Virat looked tensed, guilty, and sad...like she was resigning from his own company.
4) Whenever someone says anything wrong about Akash...like brings up the past, Virat is the only one trying to somehow defend him or trying to change the topic.

More that I think of it, I can but I don't want to conclude that...

1) Virat isn't really working with Shagun, he has a different profession that he wants to keep secret for some reason.
2) Virat and Akash are still friends. You lost your words thinking about him.....

"Ms.Thakur?" A voice called, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Yes?" I said and turned towards the direction of the voice, ah there she is! My client Ms.Rai.
"Shall we go inside?" Ms.Rai asked
"Yes, yes definitely!" I said

We both then entered the courtroom and found our seats. We then waited for the judge, when she came in....great it's a lady! Bro you won this thing! I internally rolled my eyes at that thought. We stood up for the judge and then after she sat down, we sat down as well.

"Today we are present in this court of justice for the case of Ms.Averna Rai. May the Applicant's lawyer present her case" The judge said. I then stood up to fight for this victim

"My lord, my client Ms.Averna Rai was attacked by the famous acid gang- RAV on Wednesday April 27th. She was on her way back home from college when the RAV gang splashed acid on her back. Ms.Rai was scared so she immediately ran away from her college and went to the nearest police station and filed a complaint against the gang. The police were unable to locate the famous gang for a while. Then when a police officer finally arrested the gang, the gang bribed him and they were once again set loose. They came to my client's residence and threatened her with her life, so that she could close the case. My client was scared and worried so she came to me for help. That is why we are here in this court asking for justice for this heinous crime." I stated. Impressive, the court is silent...why do I think of such things at times like this?

"Okay, after hearing your case we must listen to the correspondent's side too. We will wait for their arrest and we will take further action The court is adjourn-"

"Sorry my lord before you pass any comment about giving us another court date, I would like to say something. We live in a country where we say that a woman is given the place of ultimate respect. Then on the other hand she is treated even worse than animals. We say that women deserve respect, but do we really respect them? My client went to the police station for help and she was told that she will get the justice she deserves. When the police was finally bribed by the RAV gang, my client went there again and the police officer there told her that it was her fault that she got attacked. The officer said that she had asked for it to happen by attracting attention to herself." I stopped speaking for a bit, I was on the verge of crying. I took a sip of water and continue to speak.

"In our country my lord, we say if a girl is not 'beautiful to our eyes' then she is unfortunate, we say that no one will like her. Then we also say that if she is 'beautiful to our eyes' she is attracting attention to herself. In this case what should we do? Everyday many people of our country are deprived of the right to justice due to corrupt officers. These officers not only ruin the lives of innocent people but they also defame our country. With this I ask you my lord, will my client get the justice she deserves?" I asked quietly, but it sounded like a threat. Ha ha ha poor judge.

"Ms. Thakur I can understand your concern and once we get hold of the RAV gang, Ms.Rai will definitely get the justice she is entitled to. We have to wait for the correspondents though, so for now-"

"The correspondents are present!" A familiar voice interrupted the judge...who could it be?

Suddenly the famous RAV gang were brought into the courtroom by around 5 police officers. Then one officer who looked like the commissioner walked into the court. His hat covered his face so I couldn't see who it was. He then spoke.

"Sorry my lord for interrupting the case but we have finally arrested the RAV gang. We didn't want to wait since we didn't want to delay Ms.Rai's case."

"That's alright Commissioner Sharma. We may now proceed with the case." The judge said.

Commissioner  Sharma? Who could it be.

I looked around the courtroom to find this Commissioner. He was looking the other way, he then turned his head...our eyes met. He looked equally as shocked as I did to find him there. Commissioner Sharma was none other than....Virat!

I rubbed my eyes, I couldn't believe it! I turned and looked again...I was right...it wasn't Virat! Thank god it wasn't him! I thought that maybe he was lying to me for all these years about being in a tech company or something! The commissioner then proceeded with what he had to say, and me not being interested in all the legal procedures they had to take zoned out...

"...the officer that actually solved his case is standing outside. He is an intelligence officer, his name is Virat Sharma. If you don't......"

My head snapped in the direction of the entrance, the Commissioner had just said that Virat Sharma is standing outside the courtroom.....I didn't hear anything else and I just saw him. His eyes practically popped out of their sockets when he saw me glaring at him....he is so f*cking dead!
