Virat's POV: The present time...

I had done it. I just got hitched! I am a married man now! The realization of my marriage is just dawning upon me. I mean of course I do not regret this...NOT ONE BIT. Its just that I'm realizing all the responsibilities and stuff that come along with it, and I...I just don't know what to say. I am overwhelmed to say the least. I think-

"Virat! Virat!" My annoying cousin's voice interrupted.

"Shalini! How are you!" I said, putting on the 'realest' smile I possibly could.

We had just gotten married, like all the rituals were over, and now Shagun and I were seated on these two fancy chairs at the back of an enormous banquet hall, and now all the relatives thought that instead of letting me and my wife talk....oh sh*t! Shagun's actually my wife now! AHHHH! The realization of my marriage just keeps coming up again and again....

"Hiiiiii! Oh my goodness! The both of you are sooooo adorable!" Shalini (my cousin) yelled.

I really want to yell at the girl right now! I mean if Arya hadn't called me to let me know that they hadn't got the lengha yet... I wouldn't have known! I mean HOW IRRESPONSIBLE can some one be! Like she had one job, which was to tell someone to drop off the lengha, and she couldn't even get that right!

"Thank you!" Shagun grinned.

"Okay! Im going to go get something to eat! I'll catch you guys later!" Shalini said as she walked away.

"Oh it'd be best if you never came back to Mumbai!" I whispered as I rolled my eyes.

"Virat...she's your cousin. She's so sweet!" Shagun said.

"If I told you all the incidents from our childhood, as well as what happened today, you'd definitely have a different opinion right now." I said. I mean...Shalini was a brat back when we were in Baroda (city in Gujarat where Virat's family stayed before moving to Mumbai), and I will never forget what she did... more like what she didn't do today.

"Well, we have all night for that right?" Shagun smiled.

"Darling, tonight...especially is NOT for storytelling." I grinned. Shagun gave me a confused look, but then she soon realized what I meant.

"Virat! You are so-"

"Congratulations!" My distant uncle whose name I can't remember said, causing Shagun to instantly convert her embarrassed/angry face into a happy face.

"Thank you uncle!" I said.

"What uncle? Don't you remember my name?"...uncle said in a thick Gujarati accent.

What am I supposed to say? It's like 'oh of course uncle, I met you like once in my entire life and that too when I was just 3 years old, but OF COURSE I remember YOUR name!'

"Yes, of course I remember you! How could I forget!" I said trying to buy me some time to remember his name...what is his name! Jignesh? Kalpesh? Ramesh? Suresh?

"Okay, then tell me? What is my name?" The uncle said...and that too in English. Just try to imagine this uncle talking to me in a thick Gujarati accent while I try and remember his freaking name! HOW COMEDIC RIGHT!

"Uncle, of course he remembers your name, but humare mein badon ka naam nahin lete (we do not call our elders by their name in our family)" Shagun said shyly.

"Right beta! Eh what a cultured girl you have got Virat! You are so lucky!" The uncle said as he gave us his blessings and walked away to another group of uncles.
