Chapter 7

Third person's POV: THE PAST CONTINUED

Muskaan, Akash and Virat reached Muskaan's house. They got out of the car and went inside. As soon as they entered Mrs.Thakur ran and hugged Muskaan
"Muskaan! Oh my child! That Mittal and Rai will get severe punishments watch! The police will never let them live in peace!"Mrs .Thakur said while tears flowed down her gently aged face.
"Yeah mom! I know you care about me and all, but let's never talk about this ever again! This includes all of you *points to Virat, Shagun and Akash* The more you talk about it, the harder it will be for me to forget. So, starting from now, you will treat me as if nothing has happened to me! Understood!" Muskaan said strictly.
"Okay, what do you want to eat?" Mrs.Thakur asked
"Nothing mom, I'm not hungry. I just want to sleep!" Muskaan said with a smile
"Guess what bestie! I'm staying too!" Shagun said in a cheesy voice
"Bestie? Really? Where are your clothes?" Muskaan asked
"I'll take your clothes! You and me are basically the same size!" Shagun said as she made her way upstairs.
"Okay, we will go too!" Akash said as him and Virat started walking towards the exit
"Wait!" Muskaan said as she ran up to her two best friends and hugged them.
"Thank you! If you weren't there today, I don't know what would have happened!" Muskaan said, tears were forming in her eyes
"Hey! It's okay! Anything for you!" Akash said.
"Even if we weren't there, you wouldn't have let anything happen to yourself! Did you see the way she knocked out Rai? Did you take martial art classes or something?" Virat joked.
"No! Not martial art classes! It's called studying!" Muskaan explained
"What do you mean?" Virat asked
"I'll explain tomorrow! Now get out!"Muskaan said with a laugh.
Akash and Virat went home, Muskaan gave her mom a tight hug and went to her room to sleep. When she entered, she saw a very confused, happy and tired Shagun who was pacing around her room.
"What happened?" Muskaan asked as she went to get her night clothes.
"You change, then I'll tell you!" Shagun said
"Okay?" Muskaan said. She was finding her friend's behaviour strange. So she got changed and went outside. Shagun was sitting cross legged on her bed.
"Okay, so what happened?" Muskaan asked
"Promise you won't get mad after listening to me!" Shagun said
"Okay promise!" Muskaan said
"So, today before you guys came home, Virat called me to say that you would be staying at Mittal's house for longer. So I casually said yes and then I asked about you. He told me that you hit Rai and he fell on the ground. So then he told me about what Akash did to Mittal. He was describing it perfectly. He said that Akash had gone crazy and he was hitting Mittal as if he was going to kill him. So you know me, I immediately thought about how Akash behaves at school around you and stuff like that....so I came to the conclusion from all the evidence that was stored in my head since 8th grade, that he loves you!" Shagun explained
"No! He doesn't! Maybe I do, but he doesn't!" Muskaan said
"I don't know....Wait WHAT! Did you....did....did you just say?" Shagun was flabbergasted! She couldn't believe her ears
"Yes Shagun! Since 8th grade! I love him! I love everything about him, his looks, his personality, the way he talks, the way he cares for me! I love him!" Muskaan said shyly.
"Ohhhhhh!" Shagun said teasingly.
"When are you going to tell him?" Shagun asked
"I was thinking on the last day of college. Since after that, I go off to Law school and he goes off to learn business." Muskaan explained
"Hmmmm, good idea!" Shagun said with a smile
"Okay, let's sleep now!" Muskaan said.

The next morning:

Akash, Virat and Shagun were waiting for Muskaan at their meeting spot. Since it was a Sunday, they didn't have college
"So the last day of college is in a few days! What plans do you have after?" Virat asked
"Well you know, I'll be heading off to learn business with my uncle in America." Akash answered
"I'm going to take a course on Software engineering!" Shagun said
"I'm going to Law school, thanks for asking!" Muskaan said from behind
"Oh Makhi! You are here! We were waiting for you!" Akash said
"Really?" Muskaan asked with attitude
"Yeah! We were waiting for you!" Shagun said with a wink
"So, what's the plan for today?" Akash asked with a grin
"Hmmmmm, lemme think...." Virat said
"You can think?! VAH! I never knew you could do that!" Shagun exclaimed
"There are a lot of things I can do, trust me Guddi" Virat said with a wink
"Ohhhhhhhh!" Muskaan and Akash said
"Shut up!" Shagun said as she buried her face in her hands
"Well, looks like some people need to be left alone? What do you say me and you take a stroll Makhi?" Akash asked with a grin
"I would love to go on a walk with you!" Muskaan said as she got up and started walking with Akash
"Wait! Where are you going!" Shagun said as she got up. As soon as she got up Virat grabbed her hand and pulled her back down on the bench.
"What are you doing Guddi? Leave them alone!" Virat said
"Yeah, and leave myself alone with a psychopath!" Shagun said sarcastically
"Hey, I'll tell you 3 words and three words only, just sit tight!" Virat said
Shagun immediately thought of the three words that Virat could say next....I.Love.You! She was scared! Not that she didn't like Virat, since that would be a lie. She didn't want to be in a relationship just yet....her hear was beating fast as Virat opened his mouth to speak...
"Akash loves Muskaan!" Virat said, Shagun sighed in relief.
"What happened?" Virat asked Shagun
"Muskaan loves Akash too!" Shagun said happily
"That's great! Good thing we let them be alone!" Virat said as he and Shagun kept on talking about Akash and Muskaan

On the other hand....

Muskaan and Akash were staring in each other's eyes. They were around 30 centimetres apart. Their hands by their sides while they just read each other's minds through their eyes.
Akash wondered if god had made this beautiful creation in his free time? She was gorgeous, not only that, but she was also smart, kind hearted. How could someone not fall in love with her. Time stopped there for the two of them, until of course Virat and Shagun decided to show up and told them that they had to go home.

After that day Akash and Muskaan didn't look at each other the same way, they came to their meeting spot each and every day, they walked around the lakeside hand in hand, yet none of them confessed the feeling that were being revealed by their actions....

It is said that all good things must come to an end....
