Virat's POV: The present time...

If I knew telling the truth made your heart feel like a feather I wouldn't have lied so often! Today when I told Shagun about Akash...it felt good. Also did you see what I did back there! I can guarantee at not even even great improv actors can do what I did back there! I actually went up to Shagun just to kiss her...but then I decided not to. I mean what if she thinks that I am forcing myself on her! Honestly it took all my will power not to kiss her then and there! I can guarantee it doesn't even take that much will power to interrogate a terrorist as much as it does to not kiss this beautiful human being.....who has a snake as a pet...yes! Like who the hell keeps a freaking serpent as a pet? I was beyond petrified when she opened the cage that's why I started speaking in Gujarati.

Anyways, right now I'm with Shagun and we are on our way to Akash's house since Shagun wants to apologize.

So we reached Akash's house in like 30 minutes...best 30 minutes ever! The expression on Shagun's face when she saw Akash's Mansion was priceless! She was staring at his mansion with her mouth wide open, her eyes were practically bulging out of their sockets! I quickly took my phone out and clicked a pic of this incredibly funny moment.

"V..Virat? This is Akash's house?" Shagun asked while emphasizing on the word house
"Yes-
"Tum is Mahal ko ghar bola! (You called this castle a house?)" Shagun exclaimed in her funny Hindi dialect...she speaks Hindi but she has this dialect that makes you think that she is some next bhai (goon).
"Yes?" I answered carefully
"Tere dimag ke screw dheele hai kya....maamu! (Are the screws inside your head loose....idiot)" Shagun said again...looks like we both are way too similar...we even start speaking in our mother tongues....or mother dialects when we are shocked.....then propose to her....
"Oye! (Hey!) let's go!" Shagun said as she pulled me out of my thoughts.

I knocked on the door of Akash's house.....no mansion. Akash opened the door and  smiled at me. He then looked at Shagun and gave me a 'what the hell and how the hell' look...nevertheless he smiled at her too and ushered us to come in. As soon as we entered I was knocked down by the one and only....Mumtaz... she literally pounced on me and started licking my face....you are her favourite...

"Hello to you too Mumtaz!" I said as I got up and scratched her behind her neck. To which she responded by barking.

"Ok Akash, I don't know how to butter coat things or give long lectures so I'm going to get right to the point.." Shagun said bluntly...even I'm so blunt....laghaan kari le..(then marry her!)
"Okay...what's up?" Akash asked with a smile
"I'm sorry." Shagun said
"For what?" Akash asked cluelessly
"For being a bi*ch! There I said it! All these years I've been cursing you because you broke my friend's heart, all these years I haven't even tried asking you the reason behind what you did, but after listening to your side of the story I have understood why you did what you did. Whenever I used to see you anywhere let it be the mall, the grocery store the park, I have always turned a blind eye to you. I am so sorry Akash!" Shagun said as she slumped down on the floor and started crying loudly. I quickly got down beside her and hugged her to calm her down. Akash also has tears in his eyes as he went and got a glass of water for Shagun.

"Shagun, it's okay! I was never angry at you! I knew what you were doing was a reaction to my actions. I am sorry too. I shouldn't have let my superstitions control my feelings! I became this depressed lonely guy after I came back from my uncle's place. Then this idiot Virat shows up like always and solves my problem. He made me realize that I still love Muskaan, and he made me remember my love for her and that's why I reverted back to myself." Akash said as he kept a hand on Shagun's shoulder.

"Great everything is sorted! Now no more crying!" I said just to lighten up the mood.
"Yes! No more crying" Shagun said as she wiped her tears. Akash then brushed off his face with the back of his palms.
"Bro, you should have seen this one's face when I pulled up in your driveway! She started speaking in her funny dialect!" I said as a joke.
"Really why?" Akash asked with a chuckle
"You have a freaking mansion! This idiot was saying that you have a house! My dialect isn't funny" Shagun exclaimed.
"Hey guys you want to go somewhere?" I asked
"Where are you suggesting?" Akash asked
"Our meeting spot?" Shagun suggested
"Great idea!" Me and Akash said at the exact same time.

"Mumtaz! Arjumand! I'm leaving! I'll be back soon my sweethearts!" Akash said as we exited the house. Me and Shagun just rolled our eyes at his antics.

So we all sat in my Jeep and drove off to our meeting spot. It was a beautiful evening, no one else was there...it was just us three. The tall willow trees by the lake swayed in the gentle breeze, the beautiful periwinkle coat that was blanketing the sky was slowly fading away to reveal a dark blue sheet that was giving us the opportunity to view millions of spotlights shining on earth from the depths of the galaxy. Perfect romantic moment....
We were all just admiring the beautiful scenery when suddenly Shagun's phone rang therefore shattering the silence that once surrounded us.

"Hello!" Shagun answered then immediately put it on speaker phone mouthing 'Muskaan'
"Shagun? Where are you?" Muskaan asked
"Ummm..." Shagun said while looking at us with a confused expression. I just raised one eyebrow to give her the 'make something up' look. Shagun looked at me and smiled shyly. Akash was just standing there clueless.

"What do you mean by umm Shagun! I'm asking you where you are!" Muskaan said in an annoyed tone.
"Ummmm...I don't know how to explain..." Shagun said with a light grin
"What do you mean! A...are you with Virat?" Muskaan asked suspiciously
"How did you know?" Shagun replied with a shocked expression
"You didn't do it did you?" Muskaan asked hurriedly. To this comment me and Akash just looked at each other and I gave him the 'I wouldn't mind if we did' look. Akash just stared at me in shock.

"Oh f**k no! Muskaan! Me and him haven't even said 'I love you' to each other yet! How the hell do you expect me and him to do the do?" Shagun said and then she immediately put her hand over her mouth....why? Then it struck me 'me and him haven't even said I love you to each other yet' means she loves me! Yes! YESSSSSSS! I'm the happiest guy alive right now! I ran and hugged Akash tightly and then I started dancing. Shagun was just looking down at her feet.....probably blushing... .

"Okay okay! Fine! No need to swear though! Where are you guys? I'll meet you there?" Muskaan asked
"Noooo! Don't come here Muskaan! I think he is about to propose.....tu meri akhi life ka best din kharab karega? (Are you going to ruin the best day of my life?)" Shagun asked. I just stood there dumbstruck.
"No no Shagun! It's okay! Best of luck though! Please don't do anything until after you two get married!" Muskaan said as she ended the call.

Shagun then went and sat on the bench and put her face between her hands.

"Sooo, I'm about to propose?" I asked
"The day Virat proposes will be the best day of your life?" Akash asked with an arched eyebrow
"I said all that just to avoid her talking! Merko kya pata tha ki mericch zubaan se mericch waat lagne wali hai! (I didn't know that my tongue is going to screw me over!)" Shagun said as she slowly lifted her face from her hands.

Akash then received a message from someone...

"Sorry guys I have to go! Looks like something is up at the company! I'll see you later!" Akash said
"How will you go? You don't have your car!" I said
"I already called my driver! He will be here any second! I'll go stand out on the street! Bye!" Akash said as he began walking away
"Bye!" Me and Shagun shouted together.

I then sat besides Shagun on the bench and just looked up at the night sky. I then got an idea.....

"Shagun? How do you know that what you said won't come true today?" I asked her hinting at when she told Muskaan 'I think he is going to propose to me'
