Third person's POV: the present......
"WHAT THE HELL!" Muskaan yelled in shock. She couldn't believe her ears...
"Didi? What happened?" Ishaan asked innocently
"What happened? You're asking me what happened!" Muskaan screamed furiously
"Didi woh main...hum...(Sister...I...we)" Ishaan stuttered
"Yeh, main main kya laga ke rakha hai....bakri ho? (What is this mee mee...are you a goat?)" Muskaan taunted
"Yeh kya laga rakhe ho Inu! Didi se ab hum kab tak chupaenge? (What is going on Inu! How long will we hide it from her?)" Veer said while looking at a terrified Ishaan
"I don't care! HOW DO YOU KNOW ALL THIS STUFF!" Muskaan said through tears in her eyes.
"We figured it out. I mean to say, when Virat bhai and Shagun didi were going out of the house they were subconsciously holding hands. So seeing them thus, I asked them, and they told us." Veer said with a plain face.
"Why! Why didn't they tell me? I am their best friend right?" Muskaan said while sitting on the floor hugging her knees to her chest.
"They honestly wanted to tell you di(sis), but something kept on coming up so they couldn't tell you" Ishaan replied as he knelt down besides his crying sister.
"T..they could have called me right?" Muskaan said through her sobs
"Aap bhi na didi! Aisi badi baatein phone pe ki jaati hai?...Kamaal karte ho! (Oh my god sis! do we share such big news on the phone...wow I'm amazed!)" Veer said while sitting down on the ground.
"Aur un logo ne nahi bataya to kaunsa pahad toot gaya? Aap bhi toh aisa kar sakte ho? Hai na? (What's the big deal if they didn't tell you? You can do it too? Right?)" Veer said with mischief in his eyes.
"Kya matlab? Aap bhi aisa kar sakte ho ka kya matlab hai? (What do you mean? What does you can do this too mean?)" Muskaan asked curiously
"I mean...dadiji (grandma) would want a damad (son-in-law) now" Veer said quietly
"Shut up! Kuch bhi (Anything!)" Muskaan said while getting up.
"What's the problem sis? I mean, you are well settled, have an amazing job that pays...really..really great, extremely beautiful, and umar bhi toh ho gayi hai (you are old enough)" Veer said while acting like a typical Indian auntie at the end of his sentence.
"Why do you care? I am too young! I am-" Muskaan stopped her sentence mid-way as she saw her mom standing in the doorway
"You are the perfect age, and you need to get married soon, how long will you sit unmarried, Veer is absolutely right!" Mrs.Thakur said as she entered the room
"Plan ka satyanaash hona isi ko kehte hai! (This is what you call a plan getting ruined)" Veer mumbled to Ishaan.
"But maa (mom)!-"
"Do you want me to call Sunny?" Mrs.Thakur threatened, she knew that once Sunny tai started on her favorite topic (Muskaan's marriage) she would never stop.
"Noooooo! Please! Call anyone! Anyone! Just not Sunny tai!" Muskaan said as she folded her hands.
"Okay! This value you have of Sunny tai!" Sunny tai said as she barged into the room with a fake hurt look.
"Sh*t!" Muskaan said under her breath.
"I didn't mean that Sunny tai! You know that! It's just that you keep on going for hours when you talk about my marriage!" Muskaan explained
