A/N: Decided to post another chapter today! And by the way, I decided to try showing videos this time, instead of looking around for pictures. It's kind of hard to find pictures online, on google these days. I have to go directly to the website and hope it'll upload here, but now I won't have to worry about that, for this story. And some of the videos won't be Black Butler related. I picked them for the songs, to put you guys into the mood.
And yeah. I write a lot. I'm used to writing the fanfiction.net format then this wattpad one, but I have enjoyed reading the fanfiction here. So I'm just trying to contribute. Well, ENJOY!!! I'd love to hear if you guys like where this story is going or not.
!@#$%^&*())(*&^%$#@!
After eating your dinner and taking a nice long bathe, you slipped into your night attire and began to go through your belongings, packing your large rolling bag and small carry on for tomorrow. You couldn't help but sigh slightly. There was so much you would like to bring with you, but sadly, it'd have to be left behind. Packed away and shipped back home. Or... thrown out and discarded. Well, it's not like you weren't coming back. You'll be back in London after your birthday, perhaps before, and back to attending school and buffering your education, making you sound smarter then what you actually are.
Perhaps you're intuitive, but you don't see yourself as the smartest individual in the entire world. You have a lot of interests, but you know, at the end of the day, that pursuing those dreams are just that, dreams. Fantasies a child came up with, but could never achieve as an adult. Well... one could possibly achieve them, sure, but not you. Because, well...
You're a Phantomhive, an heir to a noble lineage and a curse, and you cannot be slowed down by petty things, like dreams and desires and wishes.
Your mother sacrificed a lot to get you here, and without you here to take on the role of a Phantomhive, your sister won't have a vast of opportunities at her disposal. It's a tad sad how this all came to be, but... you're here.
But you're not a countess. Your family lost the title of earl long ago, when you moved to the Americas, so it's annoying for those... reapers to keep calling you that. No. You're the heir to an enterprise. An empire. Your family's company spanning across the globe, in ways no mere mundane human can imagine. Well... used to be. Your late father was neglectful with the company, and sadly everyone suffered because of it.
That's why you have to be better. That's why you are going to be better. No matter your desires, how strange your thoughts, you have to put on a mask and act like a leader... and a tyrant. You have many enemies, and frenemies, and not enough friends. Heck, at the end of the day, you cannot even consider anyone a friend because if only they knew... if they did, well... you would lose a friend. That's for sure.
So, having a bit of free time is a luxury, and while you could be doing other things, your mind kept going to the book you had been given, but a bunch of creatures associated with the dead. Just... want is in this book? Will it traumatize you? Perhaps it'll be intriguing and spooky.
But that... Spears, telling you that some old reaper, who's, well, dead, wanted him to give this to a Phantomhive that could see them, is... odd. Very odd.
What sort of human can see spirits anyways?
You used to be afraid of your own shadow, until you began to look away and ignored it. Demons, angels, they exist. Sure. And a lot more, but you refuse to acknowledge it.
Only your dear little sister knows that you can see them. She's just as odd, yet as fascinated by the unknown as you are. The problem is, you can see them. She cannot, unless... they reveal themselves, and you refuse to let her endure the same traumas you do. That's why you personally love fantasy novels, mixed with a bit of suspense and drama. It lets you escape a reality that is far too terrifying.
