*tw: self harm*

After about an hour, Patton walked into my room and I pulled my sleeves back down.

"Hey," I said.

"...Virgil, what were you just doing?"

"Nothing."

"That's not true."

"Whatever."

He grabbed me, held me in place, and rolled up my sleeves. I winced.

"Virgil, I thought you finally stopped..."

"Yeah, it kinda came back when you broke up with me though, so, yeah."

He rolled them back down and hugged me. I hugged back immediately and cried quietly into his shoulder.

"Why are you still with him?" I asked all of a sudden.

"Huh?"

"Why are you still with Logan? He treats you like shit."

"He doesn't. He's just complicated."

"Pfft. Too complicated to listen to you? Seems like a great guy."

He looked down sadly. "He does ignore me sometimes. But I don't think that's his fault. He's logic, you know... He always thinks he's the best."

"And Roman thinks he's the best, but he still cares about me. Every time I read a conversation in that book and it has you and Logan in it, he always seems to ignore you. Why? It's like he doesn't even know you exist."

I didn't know what came over me, but the voice inside my head was praising me, so I kept going.

That's good, Virgil.

Finally, you know what to do.

Revenge.

"Patton, he doesn't deserve you. He only wants to hurt you. Leave him before he leaves you. He wouldn't even care anyway." My voice became more and more distorted until I had no control over what I was saying. Someone, something was taking over my body. Yes, I wanted Patton to break up with Logan so Patton wouldn't feel silenced and ignored, but the words spewing out of my mouth were much harsher than I wanted them to be.

He looked at a loss for words. "You're right..." he said finally.

"Good."
