*logan's pov*

At 7 am, I woke up, put on my glasses, and went down to the kitchen.

I knew Virgil and Roman were out of the house to get Roman's dog and some supplies.

I didn't bother checking where Remy and Dolos were, because they were most likely making out.

Patton was still asleep because I wanted him to wake up as soon as Roman and Virgil came home with the new dog.

I sipped my coffee and checked mine and Thomas' Instagram accounts before getting a text from Virgil.

Virgil: yo we're outside the door, the dog is really excited and loud and we think patton will like her so wAKE HIM UP

Logan: Will do. Come in in 30 seconds.

I made my way to Patton's room and shook him slightly.

"Whaaaat?" Patton pouted.

"You have to get up."

A loud bark was heard from downstairs and Patton immediately sprung out of bed and sprinted downstairs to see the dog. I had to run after him.

*virgil's pov*

Patton was screaming as he ran downstairs to see Roman's new dog.

She was a Border Collie named Elise. Border Collies are good therapy dogs for PTSD, and while we don't know if Roman has that, Roman really wanted a Border Collie anyway. (a/n: i fuckin love border collies)

As soon as Patton took one glance at Elise, he hugged her and scratched behind her ears like they already knew each other.

Elise was insanely energetic, pretty much to the point where I didn't really want to be around her. Yes, she was cute and I like dogs, but cats are so... chill compared to them. I'm sure I've said that before though. I was just sick of Elise looking like she was going to kill me and my family but was actually being playful.

I hid behind Roman at one point and Logan stood stiff in the corner, not daring to make one move. We were both avoiding Elise, since we're cat people.

Dolos entered the room with a hickey on his neck that he failed at covering up, but I didn't care too much. His eyes lit up when he saw Elise.

Roman noticed the blemish on Dolos too, and asked him, "Jesus, you and Remy got together that fast?"

"...no?" Dolos blushed and shrugged before turning his attention back to the dog.

Remy came later, and he didn't seem to care too much about the dog. All he said about her was, "Oh cool, you got a dog." and that was it before eating a family size bag of Doritos for breakfast.

Patton was then laying on the floor with Elise licking his face and Dolos watching Elise in awe, but being too afraid to touch her.

Thomas fell from the ceiling again, and him being Thomas and being in the same room as Patton and a dog...

There was a lot of screaming.

I honestly wanted to bury myself. To be fair, I'd act similarly if someone gave me a cat.

I was hiding behind Roman still, but Elise still saw me and jumped on me and licked my face and other kind of gross shit that only dogs do.

I didn't... I didn't mean to shout, "HELP! HELP ME!" The closer she got, the more nervous I got. God, why can't dogs be calm?!

I am a cat person, I am a cat person, I am a cat person, I am a cat person, I am a cat person-

Have I mentioned I'm a fucking cat person?

Roman had to gently pull Elise off me.

"I'm gonna cry," I whispered to him.

Roman picked me up off the floor. "Virgil, if you don't like dogs, why didn't you say so?"

"I-It's not like I don't like dogs. I like dogs in memes and funny videos and pictures on Instagram but not when they're lot and energetic and act like they want to murder everyone... Ro, I'm a cat person! And obviously we couldn't get a cat because Patton and Thomas are allergic!"

"Does Elise make you panic?"

"Well... yeah, but I'll get used to her, I guess."

"Okay! Just yell my name if you need me to get her away from you, though, okay?"

I sighed and nodded. I looked around and Elise was currently scaring the shit out of Logan. "I AM A CAT PERSON!" Logan screeched at the top of his lungs. He bolted to his bedroom, slamming the door shut and locking it loudly. "PATTON, PLEASE HELP ME!"

I chuckled. "Well, at least I'm not alone."
