Anxiety was more than a little nervous as I cheered him on and Thomas watched him perform the song.

When he finished, I ran up to him and gave him a hug. Thomas gaped at him.

"Anxiety!" Thomas shrieked. "That was incredible! Roman was right - it should definitely be in Ultimate Storytime!"

Anxiety held back his smile. "Really?"

"Yes! It's perfect!"

I nodded. "And it was my idea for him to show you, of course!"

Anxiety laughed and I almost swooned. I've only heard that adorable laugh once, and that was with Patton.

He's forgiving you!

Now it's time to forgive yourself.

*virgil's pov*

Roman and I sat on his bed. He was constantly complimenting my music skills and I was saying thanks over and over again.

We turned on a show and thirty minutes in, we heard a knock on the door. Roman went to open it.

He talked with Logan for a couple seconds before he gestured me to the door.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"I uh- I have to talk with you," Logan said, clearly uncomfortable.

Roman sat back on the bed and waited for me.

"Okay. What's up, Logan?"

"Uh, please don't get upset."

"Nothing can be worse than everything that's already happened. What's so important?"

"...well. Patton kind of asked me out on a date. I told him I would think about it. Would you... be upset? If I started dating him?" He scratched the back of his neck.

I was silent for a moment. "No! Of course not," I lied. "You should be with him. I won't be upset as long as you don't hurt him." Well, at least some of that was true.

"Oh," Logan said, surprised. "I thought you would have reacted much worse. I apologize if I made you feel uncomfortable while asking you that question. Thank you."

"No problem."

And then he left. I closed the door and sat with Roman. I sighed.

"Do you need a hug?" he asked.

I sniffed and nodded.

He wrapped his arms around me. "That was really kind of you to do that for Logan. You're a great person, Anxiety. You're no bad guy."

You're no bad guy.

Those were the words I've wanted to hear for who knows how long.

"Roman?"

"Yes, Anxiety?"

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

I watched his eyebrows furrow and I could tell he was a bit nervous and still guilty. Without hesitation somehow, I kissed his cheek.
