I perked up. "Okay... What's this other way?"

"Well," Logan said excitedly, "if Deceit has the power to bring Roman back, Roman isn't truly dead. Well, sort of. To get rid of Roman but also being able to resurrect him means Roman's spirit is inside Deceit, since Roman's body is... you know. With Roman gone, Deceit is now a main trait. He tried to get rid of you so he could become one, and when he couldn't, he tried it on Roman. Deceit is still in control of the creative side, so the best way to get him back..."

I waited impatiently.

"Is to kill Deceit-"

"YES!" I exclaimed and jumped out of my chair. "FUCKING FINALLY!"

"LANGUAGE!" came Patton's yell from a nearby room.

"But..." Logan continued.

I quieted down. "But...?"

"Killing him would be a very difficult task. If you were to kill me or Patton, it would be much more simple than to do so to him. He has more power than us, even though he wasn't a main trait before. He's a dark side, as Roman stated. You said you got rid of our memories of him doing the worst things imaginable to us all, nearly killing you, and separating everyone. This means you cannot face him alone and I wouldn't be too much help physically."

"...oh." Wait. "Wait. Didn't you kick down a fucking door?"

"Yes, but speed is not my strong suit. Nor is being sneaky or hiding. There is someone who is much better help than I am." He sighed.

"And that someone is...?" I asked.

"Patton."

"Patton?!" I frowned. "No way. He wouldn't be able to kill anyone, even Deceit. He's too nice! Do you really think he'd be able to hurt someone?"

He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. "We have to try. Plus, Patton would do anything for his friends, wouldn't he?"

"Well, yes. But he wouldn't take the life of someone else. He literally shouted at me for swearing like, four minutes ago. Do you really believe he can handle it?"

He nodded. "Think about it, Virgil. Patton is the one with the invisibility pin. Patton is the one who runs 100 miles per minute if he really needs to. Patton is the one whose dark side is Deceit. Therefore, he will assist us. He will be the most useful on our quest."

"But how are we supposed to do this? Based on Deceit's time limit, we have now until tomorrow to get this done."

"See, while you were saying those two sentences, I have already come up with a plan. We just need Patton here to explain everything. You must be quick though, since you say you have little time left."

"Okay..."

"Patton!" he called.

"Yeah, Lo?" Patton called back.

"Come here! We need to talk to you!"

"Of course, Loganberry!"

Patton walked into the room in no time. "What's up?"

"Well..." I said slowly, "we need to ask you for something huge, and it might seem big or weird or scary, but it has to be done to get Ro-"

Logan cut me off. "You're going to kill Deceit."

Patton gasped. "What?! No!"

"If you do, Roman is coming back."

"Okay, then yes. But why do you think I can kill someone? Isn't Logie the one who actually does exercise? You both know I mainly bake and eat and Virgil mainly lays in bed and eats what I bake. No offense, Virgil!"

"None taken," I said with a shrug. "That's the truth."

"Well, yes," Logan said, "but you also have an invisibility pin, you can make your way around very quickly, and your dark side is Deceit. And! You won't be doing this alone, so do not worry too much. I already have a plan on how to achieve our goal, but we have to be very careful about it, because there is a chance Deceit will be too powerful."

Logan told us the plan and Patton curled up in a ball, whimpering because he was so overwhelmed.

"Patton, you can do this!" I encouraged him.

"No, I can't... It's so bad!" he whined.

"What he did to us was worse."

"...he didn't kill us."

"He tried."

"But Roman has a chance to live. Who else did he do it to?"

"Me."

"Huh? When?"

Crap. I took out those memories.

"I- That doesn't matter right now," I said quickly. "What matters is he deserves it and we need Roman. Plus, it'll seem like I'm the one doing it!"

"It'll seem like you're doing it..." he grumbled. "I know I have to and I love Roman with all my heart too but... Then there won't ever be a new way for Thomas to lie."

"Patton, didn't you say lying is wrong?" Logan asked.

"Well, yeah... But, if he's gone, none of us can lie anymore. I won't be able to lie abou-" He cut himself off.

Logan waited for Patton to continue, but when he realized he wouldn't, he questioned him. "About what?"

I knew, because of the time when Patton was hiding in my closet and the other things he told me when we were dating.

"Nevermind, Logan! Um, let's just go back to caring about Roman!" he said quickly, changing the subject.

"Patton!" I said in a caring tone. "Look, if you don't want to do this, you don't have to. And, I mean, I'll just kill m-"

"No!" he squeaked. "You love Roman and he loves you, and if he lives you live too! And I will do what you two want me to! I- I just! I don't know!"

Logan took Patton's hands into his and said, "I understand this is scary. We're all scared. But we're all going to be there for each other and none of us are going to die except for the one causing us pain. Is that okay?"

Patton nodded slowly.

"Okay. Tonight or tomorrow? Whatever you want, Patton."

Patton took a moment to think. "Um... M-Maybe tomorrow since that's when Virgil's gonna tell Deceit what he chose and we can sneak behind him at that time? Because he'll probably be in Virgil's room based on what he's done in the past."

"Good thinking!" Logan said and kissed his delicate boyfriend's forehead. "Let's all wake up at 9 am. You're amazing, Patton. I love you."

Patton giggled and hugged Logan. "I love you too!"

I couldn't help but grin. They're adorable together. "Good night guys."

I went to my room but Patton stayed in Logan's, because Logan knew Patton wouldn't wake up before 10 am unless he had to make breakfast, which Logan had been doing a lot more lately.

Knowing I'd have Roman back soon, I peacefully (woah.) fell asleep.
