[ SoHo - 4:23 PM ]
Short trip, grueling city traffic.
But there's no place like home.
"Ah, back in New York," Illyana sighed, unlocking the door to her apartment. The redhead pulled her bags into the house, shoving them to the side by the door. Screw it; she was tired.
Illyana collapsed into the couch, letting a deep yawn out. The past few days had felt eternal, but eternity must end, right? Of course, now reality would have to settle down again.
She kept looking up at the ceiling, tirelessly analyzing it for no reason. It just seemed interesting at the moment, or so she guessed. At least now she didn't have the need to remain bored. With Ezra, Rostam and CT back in the city, her choices had re-expanded to many. And then her mother and sister, too, made it better.
A moment of peace to herself. That's all she really needed. And why not? Once her identity was the public knowledge of every Ezra fangirl, she'd be the constant subject of verbal harassment via social media.
Ugh
But she would ignore it. All because she truly loved Ezra. They wouldn't get to her.
Her eyes were red, consequence of sleepless nights, and under the makeup, bags were forming below her eyes. But that was life, and she accepted it. After all, she was never one to truly care about her appearance; not even when Ezra stayed with her. If she wasn't working, she'd always be wearing loose pants and loose t-shirts, most of which were older than life itself.
Tomorrow would be a long day. She had to get back to work, and turn in the Jake Bugg interview. Perhaps Gwen would assign her other assignments soon that would keep her running 24/7.

[ Rostam's Apartment ]
"How was Cape Cod?" The bubbly keyboardist asked Ezra. He smirked, and raised his brow.
Ezra chuckled, clasping his hands and letting a sigh out. "Um, it was nice. Short but sweet. Could have lasted longer if Illy didn't need to go to work. We took a stroll in the beach, watched horror movies and went out on a picnic date. Nothing much for two days."
Rostam nodded and smiled. "Still, it's great to see you two back together. That sad smile is gone too and has been replaced with a genuine smile."
"Y'know, you read me too much like a damned book, Batmanglij," Ezra chuckled, smiling at his mate. "You're good."
"Well," Rostam started, "I've known you for twelve years, Koenig. It's only natural. Besides, you're easy to figure out. Just ask Rap Genius," Rostam laughed, grabbing the can of coke in front of him.
"I'm not that easy, c'mon. In the world of cubes, I'm a Rubrik's cube," Ezra replied. "But anyway, we've gotta get busy in the studio. I think we've got enough to cover for the new album. I was thinking that perhaps we should aim for an early 2016 release, like we always do."
"2016 sounds plausible. Late 2015 does too. We don't want to get attached to a three year gap per album, do we?" Rostam asked.
Ezra chuckled, shaking his head. "Of course not. But..."
Rostam cocked a brow. "But what?"
Ezra buried his face in his hands, letting another sigh out. "I've been thinking of multi tasking again."
Rostam's eyes widened slightly, but quickly went back to normal. "A-another career?" He asked nervously.
Ezra bit the corner of his lip slightly and nodded. "I'd like to write a screenplay or even a book! Do something useful with my degree, like Illy does! I mean, yeah, I get to write songs but... I'd like to write a little more than that."
