Chapter Twenty-Three

POV: Angela

Buti na lang medyo naging busy na rin kami ngayon. Two weeks na lang before the end of my junior year. I'm currently preparing for the final examinations para sa linggong 'to. While, the seniors have finished in advance kaya kung busy man sila ngayon, it is because of the graduation.

Hindi ko na nagawa pa yung 'one last round'. Maybe okay na rin yun, sapat na ang ginawa kong effort. It's about time for him to witness it by himself. Sana lang ma-realize niya agad para hindi na siya sobrang masaktan. I don't want to see him devastated on the day of his graduation, especially, he's the 'first honorable mention' in his batch.

Pagkalabas ko ng library, I have overheard two familiar voices conversing across the hall. If I wasn't mistaken, it's them.

GUY: He's really into it? Akala ko ba 'first honorable mention' siya. Is that how crazy he is to you? Mamaya niyan, mahirapan ka namang iwanan siya. Pa'no naman ako?

GIRL: How many times I told you, the way I feel for him, it's just nothing. You will always be the one for me. Besides, two weeks na lang naman, and to the fact that examinations is over, pwede ko ng tapusin ang lahat. The announcement will be posted soon, magiging maayos na ang lahat. We don't have to hide anymore.

GUY: I'm excited to see his face.

POV: Logan

"Cynthia!" I shouted, which makes them look so shocked.

"A-Anthony? K-kanina ka pa ba diyan?" she glanced. 

She turned her look to the guy she is with. Pinaalis niya muna 'to at saka bumalik ng tingin sa'kin.

I am too mad to cry. "Enough. I heard it all. How can you do this to me Cynthia, wala naman akong ginawang masama sa'yo. I gave you my whole self."

I wasn't expecting about her reaction. Biglang nagbago ang reaksyon ng mukha niya from 'worried' to 'proud', "Good to know, hindi ko na pala kailangan mag-explain pa ng napakahaba"

I stared at her for two seconds, then a whisper came by myself, "Bakit?"

"Tell me, Anthony. After what I did to you last time, sa tingin mo ba talaga hindi ko uulitin yun? I'm not that dumb para isuko lahat ng pride ko. If it wasn't just for the grades, for my studies, I would never do that. Pasalamat ka na nga lang ehh, I have no choice but to do it. Atleast, hindi lang ako ang natulungan mo. I did contribute too. Kung hindi naman dahil sa'kin, hindi ka rin magkakaron ng inspiration. Without me, you were not able to have your award. You should thank me." pagmamalaki niyang sabi, putting up a very wide smile on her face.

"You're cruel! Bakit ba ko naniwala pa sa'yo?!" I said with all my heart out. I can't stop tears falling from my eyes.

"That's exactly my point." she put up a frown face "I thought you were so smart, halos lahat ng bagay kaya mong gawan ng paraan. I wasn't expecting, you would end up like this."

"All this time, hindi ako naniwala kay Angela. I gave my trust to you, pero anong ginawa mo. I'm so disappointed."

"Don't worry, Anthony, I am too. Not for me, but for you. Love is not like all the subjects we have, it doesn't all about leadership."

"But I have loved you." I whispered
