"House party in the suburbs! Oh, I remember these! Kinda jealous!" May said, stopping the car in front of Liz's house.
"It'll be a night to remember," Ned said excitedly from beside me.
May let out an excited noise. Neither Peter nor I were doing so.
"Ned, some hats wear men, you wear that hat," May told Ned. "And Peter, doesn't Y/N look stunning?"
I was looking 'stunning' in a black blouse and ripped black jeans. I had hoop earrings in and a couple bangles, but 'stunning'? I dunno.
"Y-yeah," Peter mumbled in response. "This is a mistake," he breathed, still staring out the window. "Hey, let's just go home."
May gave him a sympathetic look. "Oh Peter, I know, I know it's hard, trying to fit in with all the changes your body's going through," May said softly. "It's flowering now!"
Peter's expression made me want to laugh, but it was kinda pitiful.
It went from 'worry' to 'WHAT?!' In about a nanosecond.
He chuckled sarcastically, resting his head back on the headrest.
"He's so stressed out lately," May told me.
I smiled sadly.
"What helps with stress is going to a party," Ned told Peter, who nodded irritably. "We should go to the party."
Peter nodded eagerly now, probably eager to get out of the car and away from May. "Yeah, let's do it, I'm gonna do it."
We all opened our doors and stepped out. I was greeted by a boy my age, no doubt cute, waving at me.
I waved back, glad I looked so very cute.
I heard Ned say, "Bye May!" And I watched May drive off, stepping up onto the sidewalk and catching up with Ned and Peter. Kinda hard in such tall black boots, but I managed.
"Dude, you have the suit, right?" Ned whispered.
Peter lifted his sleeve, confirming he did.
I patted his shoulder. "You think Liz will kiss you?"
Ned looked apply, but Peter looked horrified.
"This'll be a night to remember," Ned chuckled.
"Why would you ask that?!" Peter hissed to me.
"Cause that's what you want, right?" I asked.
Peter looked uncertain.
When we entered the house, terrible music was up way too loud. When I saw Flash was DJ, I wasn't surprised.
"Okay, we're gonna have SpiderMan swing in, say you guys are tight, then I'll get a fist bump or one of those half bro hugs," Ned instructed.
Peter looked pale.
"Can't believe you guys are at this lame party," MJ said.
I turned to look at her, in her odd attire, and she held up a piece of toast.
"But..you're here too," Ned told her.
She squinted her eyes. "Am I?"
Yeah, she was weird.
I walked over to her, choosing to be with her instead.
She looked me up and down. "Sexy," she said approvingly.
"MJ," I warned.
Peter heard her, and looked me up and down as well.
I gave him a curious stare.
"Her eyes are up here," MJ said to him.
He looked away quickly instead.
"Oh my gosh!" Liz walked in. "Hey guys!"
I chose this moment to exit, MJ tugging me with her.
I shadowed her for a few moments before deciding to look for Peter. As I was rounding a dark corner, someone yanked me into it.
"Hey Liz," I said without looking.
She flicked the light on. "So?"
I stared at her. "So..what?"
She sighed. "So are you on a date, with Peter?"
I tried not to laugh in her face. "No."
She sulked. "Oh, well, I totally ship you two."
I leaned on the wall. "No, Liz, you can't 'ship' us. That's inappropriate."
She mimicked me.
"I ship you two as well," another voice said.
Once again I didn't turn around. "Hey MJ."
She poked my side as she walked past.
"Do you like him?" Liz said, intently staring at me.
"Yeah, I kinda do," I said to the floor. "But he likes y-someone else."
"He likes me?!" Liz said, grinning widely. "That's so cute! I never liked him..but now I know he likes me, aw!"
I resisted rolling my eyes. I did that too often. "So cute. Can I go now?"
She nodded. Just as I turned, she grabbed my arm. "And I agree with Michelle. Sexy."
I chuckled. "If only Peter thought so.
Liz nodded slowly. "I think he does, to be honest. You should've seen him watching you."
I shook my head.
I walked back to the entry hall, searching for the boys. I found that cute boy instead. "Hey, have you seen Peter?
He smiled rather disarmingly at me. "Your boyfriend? No. Geez, you'd better keep a better eye on him."
I shuffled on my feet. "He's not my boyfriend, where'd you get an idea like that?"
He gave me a confused look. "He's not? Well, Liz said-"
That's all I needed to hear, and I walked away.
Pushing past kids, I headed outside.
Peter was nowhere to be found.
