About twenty minutes later we were in Happy's car, riding to the airport.

"New York, Queens. It's a rough borough, but hey, it's home."

I heard this from behind me, and turning, I saw Peter filming out his window. I sniggered.

He turned the camera to me.

"Who're you talking to?!" Happy snapped.

I turned to glare at him.

"Uh, no one?" Peter responded. "Just making a little video of the trip."

I smiled at the road fondly. "You know you can't show it to anyone?"

"Uh, yeah," Peter said back.

"Then why are you narrating in that voice?" Happy continued.

I scoffed and turned to him. "Stop harassing him."

"Eh...cause it's fun?" Was Peter's reply.

I gestured to Peter as an example.

Happy placed his sunglasses on his nose. "Fun."

"So uh..why'd they call you Happy?" Peter asked.

At that, Happy rolled the barrier window up.

I rolled my eyes and rolled the window back down, sliding through it to Peter's side while I received weird looks from both.

I slumped, almost out of breath, in the middle seat right next to Peter.

He blushed a little, at the closeness of us.

I pretended not to feel it. "So, Peter, are you excited?"

Peter nodded at me, then appeared to be having an internal war. He looked at his intertwined fingers and gulped, seeming to have chosen what to say. "So, when were you planning on telling me you are an Avenger?"

I smiled softly. "Don't be to hard on your hands, Peter. I'm sure they were going to tell you soon. I doubt they could keep it a secret for long, being attached to you and all," I said, nudging him with my shoulder.

He looked up at me with a hurt expression, and I knew that was the wrong thing to say. "You knew I was the Web-Slinger."

I nodded slowly. "Happy, quit eavesdropping. Roll the window up," I said to Happy while Peter sighed and slumped in his seat. As soon as Happy complied I turned back to Peter. "I found out on accident, buddy," I answered Peter's question.

He didn't move anything but his eyes. "Yeah, but you still knew. And you didn't tell me."

I leaned back to match him, side-eying him. "What I'm about to say is so cliché but...it's true. I didn't want you to get hurt because of me."

Peter's eyes rolled. "I'm SpiderMan, I can take care of myself," he said in a bored tone.

I licked my lips. "Of course you can, Peter. But that's not going to stop me from trying to protect the ones I love."

The only thing Peter was moving, being his eyes, widened in shock.

I gulped and rushed to elaborate. "I love you like a brother, Peter."

He nodded. "But when were you gonna tell me?"

I slumped slightly further. "When we needed you."

Peter rolled his head onto his shoulder to look me in the face. "I still would've liked to know I was hanging out with the Red Widow, you know. You knew you were hanging out with SpiderMan, so that would've been fair."

I noticed how very close our faces were, but brushed it off. "Alright Parker, you want me to be honest?"

Peter scoffed. "Duh. Tell me the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth."

I gave in. "Yes, your honor. I thought I would, scare you."

Peter scoffed again.

"No, really. I thought that, even though you're SpiderMan, being so close to me, who is an ex-HYDRA experiment, an assassin, a top level SHIELD agent, and an Avenger would be a bit scary for you. I didn't want to scare you off. But you seem fine to me, I mean, you're not running," I finished.

Peter leaned slightly closer to me. "Well, where can I go?"

I smiled. "Good point." I began to feel sleepy, and seeing as he couldn't go anywhere, I leaned my head onto his shoulder.

In the reflective window I could see him staring at me, mouth slightly agape.

He didn't move.

"Peter, close your mouth and lean your head on mine. The plane's away off, get some sleep," I closed my eyes and felt his head rest on mine.

We fell asleep not too long after.
