About a day later I received a call from May.
I was headed back to the tower, where Tasha was waiting for me to do homework.
Of course, walks like these were my favorite. September was my favorite month (and not just cause my birthday is in that month).
The city was beautiful all the time, but especially in the fall.
It was cooler then anyway.
I almost dropped my phone too, cause somebody brushed rudely past me.
"Hey May!" I answered.
May didn't respond cheerfully. "Have you seen Peter?"
I felt sick all the sudden. "No, no I haven't."
May cleared her throat. "Let me know if you do please."
"Wait, how long has he been-" but she hung up. I ran into the compound and called Peter almost twenty times.
He never answered.
Three hours later I ran all the way to Peter's house.
It helped to run instead of teleport, cause running knocked out a lot of my very nervous energy.
I pounded on May's door.
She opened, saw it was me, and deflated.
I suddenly felt more sick. "He's not home?"
I knew the answer before May shook her head.
She stepped aside, letting me in.
"Peter hasn't called back in three hours," she sniffled. "I'm so scared."
I hugged her.
Tightly.
She didn't move, except to wrap her own arms around me. "Thank you Y/N."
I sniffled, and walked down the hall to Peter's room.
I'd wait there like I always do; as if nothing was wrong.
I sat in his room for an hour, at least.
I was in his room for so long I almost fell asleep on his desk.
Until I heard a knock at the door.
I jumped up, completely awake now.
I heard May open the door.
I peaked into the hall.
Peter walked in the room behind a livid May. Peter was donning an over-sized New York themed tshirt.
And hello kitty pajama bottoms.
May, on the other hand, was dressed fancily.
She was also frowning, and ranting. "I've been calling you all day! You didn't answer your phone! You can't do that!"
Peter's eyes were all red. He'd been crying.
That jerked my damn heartstrings.
"Then this ferry thing happens?" She said hysterically. "I've called five police stations. Five."
Peter swallowed hard.
"I've called five of your friends, I've called Ned's mother-"
Peter had started talking over her. "I'm fine, May, I'm okay."
May turned to face him. She looked pissed. (So was I. I had been one of those five friends) She motioned to her throat. "Cut the bullshit."
Peter blinked at her.
