At school, Ned still had questions about Peter. I don't know how they managed to get almost every class together. I know how I did, when I was put into public school Tony made sure I was with a friend.
"Can you spit venom?" Ned whispered.
I gave Ned a look. "Shh."
"No," Peter answered.
"Can you summon an army of spiders?" Ned asked.
This time I turned to Peter, wondering if he actually could.
He looked at me like 'don't encourage him'. "No, Ned."
"How far can you shoot the webs?" Ned pestered.
Peter looked aggravated, "it's unknown, shut up."
"If I was you, I would stand on the edge of a building, and just shoot it as far as I could-"
"Shut up, Ned!" Peter interrupted him as a girl looked back at him.
I stared at her till she turned back around.
In PE, we sat watching a Captain America Fitness Challenge Video, a CAFCV, and I sat beside Peter and Ned.
"Do you know him?" Ned asked, meaning Cap.
"Yeah, we met," Peter answered. "I stole his shield," he added proudly.
I smiled. Ned looked in total awe.
If I wanted to, I could tell Ned some pretty awesome stories about Steve.
However, I bit my tongue.
As the rest of the group did sit ups, MJ and I stayed sorta lazy. I leaned on her legs as she lifted her book up and down.
I listened to Liz's conversation instead.
"Now see, if it were me, it would be F Thor, marry IronMan, and kill Hulk," her blonde buddy said.
I gagged. Since I knew them...
"But what about the SpiderMan?" The short haired one asked.
"It's just 'SpiderMan'" Liz corrected. "And did you guys see that bank security cam on YouTube? He fought off like four guys!" She added.
I sighed.
MJ gave me a look. "You okay babes?"
"I'm fine," I mumbled. She nodded and gave a "Mmmh. Sure."
"Oh my god, she's crushing on SpiderMan," the blonde said.
"No way," the short haired one said.
Liz shrugged, "Kinda!"
"Oh gross. He's probably, like, thirty," the blonde stated.
I scoffed.
"You don't know what he looks like. What if he's like, seriously burned," the short haired one added.
Yeah, like Peter looked anything like that.
Liz made a face. "I don't care, I'd still love him for who he is on the inside."
Now I really gagged at her cheesiness.
"Peter knows SpiderMan!"
At this, I jumped up. Peter did too. "Ah, no, no I don't."
I felt like punching Ned's face in.
"They're friends," Ned went on, and that urge grew stronger. Only now, I'd use a sledgehammer.
"Yeah, like coach Wilson and Captain America are friends," Flash joined the convo.
"I've met him, yeah, couple times," Peter said, swallowing hard. "But it's through the Stark..Internship," Peter added. "Yeah, well, I'm really not supposed to talk about it," he hissed the last part at Ned.
I walked closer to them while MJ accidentally dropped her book on her face.
"Yeah, well that's awesome! You know what, you should totally invite him to Liz's party," Flash taunted. "Right?"
Peter looked over at me. I shook my head slightly.
"Having a party?" He said to Liz.
I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah, I'm having a couple people over tonight. You should totally come," Liz answered him.
I felt very irked.
I think this is what jealousy felt like. I mean, it was a strong urge to punch Peter. And Liz, I really wanted to punch Liz.
"Yeah, it's gonna be dope," Flash went on. "You should totally invite your personal friend SpiderMan."
And Flash, yeah, let's punch Flash.
"It's okay," Liz said, her voice smooth. "I'm pretty sure Peter's way to busy for parties anyways, so.."
Peter looked torn between doing what's right and what's fun.
"Come on, he'll be there, right Parker?" Flash dug.
I moved to him, but MJ grabbed my arm. "He's just an idiot," she whispered to me.
I growled. "I punch idiots."
The bell rang, and the students cleared out. MJ released me, leaving with the other students. I walked towards Ned. I was gonna punch him now.
Peter turned around, pissed. "What're you doing?!"
Ned shrugged, "Helping you out!"
I prowled closer. Peter spotted me and the look in my eyes.
Just as I made it up to him, Peter snatched me first and held my arms behind me, effectively restraining me. "Great wingman technique, Ned," I hissed.
"Did you not hear her?" Ned asked us both. "Liz has a crush on you!"
I snarled. "Wrong. She has a crush on SpiderMan. Not Peter, SpiderMan. There's a difference."
Peter's grip on me tightened at my tone.
"Dude, you're an avenger. If any one of us has a chance with a senior girl it's you!" Ned continued.
I felt sick.
