Peter walked out of the principal's office, where Ned and I were waiting.

He shouldered his backpack and sighed.

Both Ned and I took our places on either side of him.

"Are you expelled?" I asked.

Ned also had a question. "Do you have to go to that school where the principal has a crossbow?"

"Ned, I carry a gun." I lifted my shirt to prove it.

"Pretty sure that's an urban myth, and no, I'm not expelled," Peter jumbled, looking at my stomach.

I let go of my shirt and linked my arm through Peter's. "Are you okay?"

He frowned, and nodded, mouthing, "duh."

I didn't accept 'duh's as answers.

"Dude, you carry a gun?"

I cringed. "Yeah, I'm an assassin."

Ned scoffed.

Peter looked at him funny. "She's serious. Her new code name is Black Skull."

Ned's eyes widened. "Wait, she's the one who fights with the avengers?!"

Peter nodded, a small glint of pride in his eyes. "Yeah she is."

"She's the one with the ever-changing code names, right?"

"Yes she is," Peter's proud smile remained.

I rolled my eyes. "She's right here you know."

"So that's why you carry a gun!"

I sighed. "Good job Ned."

"You're the Black Skull? You were the Widow Maker?!"

I shushed him. "Ned! Peter! Be quiet! I might as well say Peter carries his SpiderMan suit-"

Peter clamped his hand over my mouth. "Shh," he warned, removing it.

"Point proven," I said.

"You're so lucky," Ned whispered to Peter.

Peter smiled. Like, yeah, I know. I am lucky.

"May! I need your help!" Peter slid into the kitchen, and both May and I snapped to attention.

"Are you okay?" We asked in unison.

Peter's face lit up. "Liz is going to homecoming with me!"

My stomach dropped. But I was happy for him. My phone beeped. "Have fun," I muttered, gathering my stuff.

Peter almost deflated. "Wha-you can't stay?"

I gave him a smile, as badly as I wanted to cry. "Nope, Liz texted me. She wants me to help her get ready. So I'll see you there. Good luck handsome."

Peter smiled gratefully at me. "See you."

I ran out.
