The ship hit the ground with a soft thud, right in front of the compound. My heart was racing. I had worried the entire flight back about whether or not Tasha was alive, Bucky, Steve, Clint, anyone. Now that we were back on Earth, back at the compound, I felt both safe, and worried.

Tony stood up, with Nebula's help, and I hit the button to open the ship. I walked behind Tony, breathing in fresh air in thankful gulps. Okay, it was New York so it wasn't that fresh.

But it was oxygen and all three of us had needed oxygen.

Steve was running towards us on the moonlit lawn. He reached us, taking Tony from Nebula and looking at him with both awe and sorrow. Nebula sat down at the end of the ramp.

Tony held onto Steve's arm tightly. He looked at him with a hurt expression, and I felt it in my stomach when he said, "Couldn't stop him."

"Niether could I," Steve responded.

Tony took a small pause. "I lost the kid."

Steve's eyes flew to me, with a confused light in them, before realization dawned. "Tony, we lost."

"Is-"

Pepper cut Tony off with a hug. She caught up with Steve a minute ago, her eyes wide and showing just how relieved she was to see Tony.

I felt relieved that she was alive. Tony needed that.

I looked across the lawn, and my eyes met Tasha's. She was staring at me with her hands over her mouth, her eyes shining with tears. I opened my mouth, crying her name, and taking off at a run across the lawn. She opened her arms, catching me and hugging me tightly. She buried her face in my neck, crying. The Black Widow, who never shows emotion, was holding me and crying. My fingers dug into her jacket as I tried to keep her as close to me as I could. She was alive, she was alive, thank god.

She pulled back, cupping my face in her hands. "Oh, you're alive."

I nodded, brushing her hair away from her face. "We lost Peter," I whispered. "I lost him."

Her mouth hung open. "Oh no. Oh no." This was all she said, hugging me again.

Over her shoulder I saw a Raccoon, walking in his hind legs and wearing clothes.

Maybe I was hallucinating.
