"It's just that...when whatever happened..happened," he gave me an even more pointed look. "It's like my senses have been dialed to eleven. There's too much input so they just kinda....help me focus."
I felt guilt rising again. I really had tried to keep Peter hidden from Tony.
"You're in dire need of an upgrade," Tony stated. "Systemic, top-to-bottom, 100 point restoration. That's why I'm here."
Peter moved to his bed, sitting next to me.
I felt to guilty to move.
"Why are you doing this? I gotta know; what's your MO. What gets you out of that twin bed in the morning?" Tony continued.
Peter messed with his fingers, looking round the room. "Because," he paused. "I've been me my whole life, and..I've had these powers for six months," Peter paused again.
Tony hummed for him to continue.
"I read books, I build computers," Peter glanced at me. "And-and yeah, I'd love to play football. But I couldn't then, so I shouldn't now."
"Sure, cause you're different," Tony agreed, but I was momentarily distracted by the thought of Peter in a football uniform.
"When you can do the things that I can," Peter glanced at me again. "But you don't,"he gave a weak chuckle. "And then the bad things happen? They happen because of you."
The urge to yell WitH GreAt PoweR ComeS gReaT ReSponsiBiliTy was strong. But I withheld.
"So you wanna look out for the little guy, wanna do your part. Make the world a better place and all that, right?" Tony asked.
Peter nodded. "Yeah, yeah. Just looking out for the little guy that's-that's what it is."
I smiled a little.
Tony stood up, and moved toward the bed. Peter didn't move, so Tony said, "I'm going to sit there, so you move the leg."
Peter moved, thighs touching mine.
Tony hesitantly patted his shoulder. "Got a passport?"
Peter looked confused. "Uh no, I don't. I don't even have a drivers license."
Tony nodded. "You ever been to Germany?"
Now Peter looked shocked. "No."
"Oh you'll love it," Tony said with a shake of the head.
Peter sat up straighter. He opened his mouth for a few seconds. "Mr. Stark, I can't go to Germany!"
Tony shrugged, "why?"
Peter paused for quite a while. "I got......homework."
Tony's eyes rolled. "I'm going to pretend you didn't just say that." He stood up and walked to the door.
"I'm-I'm being serious!" Peter said frantically. "I can't just drop out of school!"
His voice rose in nerves.
Tony held one hand on the doorknob. "May be a little dangerous. Better tell Aunt Hottie I'm taking you on a field trip-"
Tony was cut off by Peter's suddenly jumping up and webbing his hand to the door. He turned his hand over to point at stark. "Don't tell May."
I felt slightly proud of my handsome Peter.
Tony was side-smiling. "Alright SpiderMan."
There was a semi-awkward silence.
Then Tony gestured to his stuck hand. "Now get me out of this."
"Sorry, I'll get the-" Peter got the solution and unstuck Tony.
