Peter and I waited.

Tony got to distract Squidward's twin.

"And anyone of them-"

The ugly alien bastard turned to Tony.

Tony stood defensively.

Ebony smiled. It was ugly. "Could end your friends life in an instant."

Tony almost shrugged, "I gotta tell you, he's not really my friend. Saving his life is more of a professional curtesy."

I held my breath.

Ebony Maw walked toward Tony. "You've saved nothing," he said airily, flicking a wrist.

I felt my heart jump to my throat when a chunk of metal floated off the damn wall.

"Your powers are inconsequential to mine," Maw continued, and flicked his other wrist.

I felt my heart sink back to my stomach when yet another chunk of metal started floating.

"Yeah, but the kid's seen more movies," Tony interrupted.

After that, chaos.

Literally, if I hadn't jumped out of the way in time, I'd've been sucked out of the newly blasted hole in the ship out into outer space.

Tony caught me, held me tightly.

I watched Peter grab Strange, then the metal he was holding snapped, and he flew toward the hole.

I screamed, but iron legs sprouted from Peter's suit, catching him.

He cheered. "Oh, yes! Wait! What're those?" Strange hung from Peter's web, out of the ship.

I felt relieved, but Tony's grip didn't loosed till Peter got back inside the ship, let Strange hold his own, and grabbed me.

Tony sealed the hole back up.

We all panted.

I gripped Peter's hand.

He was frowning concernedly at me. "You alright?"

I was examining him though. He looked fine, so I answered. "You're alright?"

He shook his head at me with a smile.

Tony's suit shrank back into its chest piece. He walked toward the front of the ship, so Peter and I followed.

"We gotta turn this ship around," Strange said to Tony.

"Yeah, now he wants to run. Great plan."

"No, I want to protect the stone," Strange snapped back.

"And I want you to thank me. Go ahead, I'm listening."

Peter and I shared looks.

Stephen walked closer to Tony, looked peeved. "For what? Nearly blasting me into space?"

Tony spun to look at him. "Who just saved your magical ass? Me."

Strange nodded. "I don't know how you fit your head in that helmet."

Tony glared. "Admit it. You should've ducked out when I told you to. I tried to bench you, you refused."

Strange had positioned himself between Peter and me, and Tony.

He was looking pissed off now. "Unlike everyone else in your life, I don't work for you."

Tony's face scrunched up a bit in anger. "Yeah, and due to that fact, we're now in a flying doughnut, billions of miles from earth with no backup."

Peter frowned, holding up a hand. "I'm backup." We said in unison.

Tony pointed accusingly at him. "No, you're stowaways. The adults are talking."

Strange motioned between us. "I-I'm confused as to the relationship here. Wh-what is he, your ward?

Peter frowned. "No."

Strange nodded. "Your...ward's girlfriend?

I froze. "Nnnnoooo?"

Peter recovered. "I'm Peter by the way."

He held out his hand, but Strange didn't take it.

Instead, he said, "Doctor Strange."

Peter's eyebrows rose. "Oh, we're using our made-up names. I'm SpiderMan, then."

I scoffed. "I'm Y/N."

Strange frowned, nodding slowly. "This ship is self-correcting its course. Things on autopilot."

Tony didn't listen.

"Can we control it? Fly us home?" Strange went on.

Tony still stayed quiet.

Strange frowned. "Stark?"

Tony jolted. "Yeah?"

"Can you get us home?" Strange repeated, slightly irritable.

"Yeah I heard you," Tony murmured. "I'm thinking I'm not so sure we should."

Strange was ticked off again, and his body language showed so. "Under no circumstances can we bring the Time Stone to Thanos. I don't think you quite understand what's at stake here."

There were six stones. That's all I knew.

Tony now got all up in Strange's face. "What? No. It's you who doesn't understand...that Thanos has been inside my head for six. Years."

Strange still held his ground.

"Since he sent an army to New York and now he's back. And I don't know what to do." Tony's voice broke.

Peter held my hand tighter.

"So I'm not so sure if it's a better plan to fight him on our turf or his....but you saw what they did, what they can do. At least on his turf he's not expecting it," Tony didn't even back down a tiny bit. "So I say we take the fight to him. Doctor. Do you concur?"

I whispered, "Catch Me if You Can."

Peter let out a breath.

"All right Stark," Strange said, resigned. "We go to him. But you have to understand...if it comes to saving you..or the kids, or the Time Stone, I will not hesitate to let either of you die. I can't, cause the universe depends on it."

I looked at the floor, blinking, taking that in.

We really were in trouble.

"Nice, good moral compass. We're straight." Tony walked past Strange, and headed for us.

He raised his arm, and using it as a sword, basically knighted Peter. "All right kid, you're an Avenger now."

And he walked away.

Peter looked down at me, shocked, then straightened up, smiling.

I felt my heart swell in my chest.

I placed my hand on his cheek, and his straight posture slackened. "I'm proud of you, Peter."

He smiled widely. "We're on the same team now."

I laughed in relief. "Oh god, Peter. Thank you."

He looked down at me.

I felt something intense in his stare.

"I love you too, you know," he whispered. He actually choked on it.

I blinked, then grabbed his arm.

He turned to me.

I tip-toed. "I could kiss you."

He smiled, a one-sided smile, showing perfect teeth. "Go ahead."

"Gross." Tony gagged.

Strange gave us a look.

So I backed away.

Peter looked flushed.
