"Sweetie, please please please wake up!" Peter pleaded.

What if I didn't want to? What if I wanted to stay asleep?

I shook my head, testing to see if it hurt.

It didn't. In that case, I slowly sat up.

Leaning back on my elbows, I saw Peter at the edge of the truck, doors busted off. "Hey Peter."

He was hanging upside down, but he fell once I spoke. "You're awake! You're okay! Thank god."

He jogged over to me. "Can you stand up?"

I smiled. "If you take my hand?"

He tugged his mask off.

I was glad he did, cause he was so handsome.

"Sure sweetie," he held out his hand. I took it, and he stood me up.

"Whoa," I breathed, "head rush."

He looked at me in mild concern, holding my hand and bracing my stomach, "you okay?"

I pretended to consider it. "I just got knocked over the head three times Peter, give me a minute!"

He smiled a little at the floor. "Alright, sorry."

As we stood in the truck, I looked around. "Peter, where are we?!"

He let me stand on my own, replacing his mask and stopping at the edge of the truck. "Damage control deep storage vault." He answered in a monotone voice.

I sat down quickly. "Oh shit."

"Language," he said half-heartedly.

I didn't say 'you know what Parker?' like I normally would. Now..didn't seem the time.

Peter webbed the top of the loading van and pulled himself up.

I stood up, because I can't do what he did.

I threw my arms to my side in slight frustration, opting to just pop over to his backpack.

But when I tried, I received a jolt, and didn't move except to fall to the floor. "Ow," I muttered. "That's...odd." I stood up, brushing off my hip and tried again.

This time, I arrived at my destination, but quickly popped back with a very painful jerk to my insides.

That made me yelp and cry out, falling back to the floor.

Peter's head snapped up in worry. "What happened?!"

I sat up wearily. "Teleporting isn't working, Peter."

"Damn!" Peter said very angrily. "Alright, we've gotta figure out something else. And don't try to teleport anymore if it hurts."

"Yes sir," I muttered sarcastically, standing up with a small struggle. And as I stepped off the truck, I tripped.

His web caught me before I hit the floor, righting me with a small tug.

Of course, greatful as I was, that tug only gave me a new headache. "Thanks Spidey," I muttered.

He nodded. "No problem sweetie. No, I do not like her like that Karen! Geez."

I stopped my walk to the huge concrete door. "Peter?"

He jumped off the loading van, giving me a curious stare. "What?"

I smiled a little at him. "You know I can hear everything you say, right?"

He looked worried and confused. "Er..what do you mean?"

I walked the rest of the way to the door, him behind me and kicked it. "I can hear you tell 'Karen' things."

Peter's suit's eyes widened. "Oh."

"So, her name is Karen?" I attempted a subject change as I examined Peter's web work on the door.

Peter nodded, following behind me. "Yeah."

"How'd you come to that name?" I asked as I picked up Peter's things, putting them back in his backpack.

"I named her," he responded, kneeling beside me and trying to take the things from me. "You don't have to take care of me anymore, you know."

I let him have his stuff. "I do, Peter. So what?"

He put his jacket on over his midtown one. "So don't try to mother me."

I felt only a little hurt. "Fine."

He seemed to notice he'd hurt me, but he turned away and muttered to himself, "There's gotta be something in here that I can use."

I followed, only a little mad at him.

He walked back into the truck, tugging his jackets off.

I picked one up and put it on.

What? I'm cold.

"Nope," Peter muttered as he tossed aside a round metal object I didn't recognize. "That's awesome," he muttered again, placing an Ultron head to the side.

I kneeled beside him as he pulled out a larger glowy thingy.

He twisted it around in his hands. "Oh, it's like the glowy thingy!"

I waited a moment, giving him the silent treatment.

But apparently someone wasn't giving him the same treatment.

"Whoa whoa whoa, you mean we've been carrying around a bomb?!" He jumped up, dropping the glowy thingy and grabbing my elbow, pulling me up with him.

I noticed how close he kept me.

I was only a little worried at the fact he'd said 'bomb'.

He reached right into the pocket of the jacket I was wearing and yanked out his cell phone.

I watched him bring up Ned's number, waiting for him to answer.

Straight to voicemail. "No no no no no!" He said angrily when Ned didn't answer.

I had forgotten my phone, figures.

But he pulled me out of the truck, so I didn't have time to think about that.

"Peter, what did Karen say?" I asked as he pulled me to the door.

"It's an explosive Chitauri energy core," Peter said breathlessly.

I gasped. "Oh god."

He let go of me, kicking the door again, pleading to be let out.

I put a hand on his shoulder, "Peter, it won't work!"

"Karen, you have to help me override that time lock!" He announced, ignoring me completely.

I sighed, feeling useless.

I stood this way while he and his new best friend Karen overrode the time lock.

"Okay Karen, lower the voltage and run it," Peter commanded.

I sighed.

"Okay, we're just gonna have to try every sequence!" Peter said with a small shrug.

I may have to point out he was several feet off the ground and up-side-down.

"Peter, if you and your girlfriend don't get us out soon, the decathlon will be over!" I cried up to him.

I didn't miss his swearing under his breath at what I said.

"I wonder what people will think when they realize we're missing," I said loudly. "Together."

"You're worse then Stark," he mumbled about me to himself.

I pinched my lips together in frustration. "Alright Parker, what do you want me to do?"

He ignored me.

"Hurry up, Parker!" I was being annoying, I knew that.

"Hey, while I'm doing this, why don't you try to get a hold of Ned, huh?" He said in an irritable tone, tossing his phone down to me.

"You're too trusting in my reflexes," I murmured.

I called Ned.

No answer.
