Midoriya's POV:
Once it hits 7am, my alarm goes off. I desperately want to smack my alarm and go back to sleep, but I forced myself to turn off the alarm and get up. My back was still sore from Saturday, but that was to be expected.
I splashed water on my face and walked over to my shower.
As I got ready, I replayed Saturday's events in my head. The same things came into my head again.
Maybe I shouldn't have hugged him..It was the rush of the moment, I guess.
Is he upset about the hug?
I shook my head quickly, droplets of water flying off of my hair.
"I shouldn't think about this now." I buttoned my collared white shirt and tied my tie.
"Monday..I wonder if Aizawa~sensei will teach us today. Or maybe it'll be study hall?" I slipped on my bright red shoes and walked out to the kitchen.
"Morning Mom!"
"Good morning Izuku. You seem awfully chipper today. It is a Monday, you know."
"I know. I'm just excited to know what we're doing today. Maybe we'll do hero training.." I smiled brightly to my mom.
"Well, whatever you do, I hope you'll have fun."
"Thanks Mom..I think I'm going to head out now."
"Take some toast with you. It's important to eat something before class."
"Thanks." I took a piece of toast and walked to the door with my backpack. "Bye Mom! I'll see you after school."
I shut the door behind me and locked it. I smiled up at the sky and took a bite of my toast.
"Hey.." I turned to see Todoroki.
"H-Hi Todoroki~kun!"
"How's your back?" His voice seemed calm and quiet as always.
"It's doing alright. It still hurts a bit, but that's to be expected."
"Ah, okay..."
"How was your Sunday?"
"It was okay. The usual..How was your Sunday?"
"It was good. I was just watching TV all day."
"That sounds nice.."
"Yeah, it was."
Silence.
It wasn't a super awkward silence, but it was silent. I quietly ate my toast.
The rest of our walk was silent, except the nature around us was singing quietly. With winter coming, everyone was preparing. I watched as a few squirrels were gathering their winter supply of food.
"I heard that Mr. Aizawa was planning on taking our class on a field trip over winter break." Todoroki broke the silence.
"Oh really? Do you know what kind of field trip it'll be?" I asked, beginning to get excited.
"Not really...I'm sure Mr. Aizawa will tell us about it soon."
"Yeah, you're probably right."
He nodded and it was silent again. We walked up to the school and I looked around.
"Deku~kun! Hi!" I heard a high pitched feminine voice call. I turned to see Uraraka smiling brightly.
"Hi Uraraka~chan."
"I should go.." Todoroki awkwardly murmured and walked away, probably to class. Uraraka wasn't smiling now.
"Sorry for ditching you on Saturday..Tsu~chan was having a rough day."
"It's okay. Is she okay?"
"Yeah, she's doing better." Uraraka offered a soft smile.
"That's good..and it's okay. I got to spend some time with Todoroki~kun.." I blurted, my face heating up with embarrassment. "I-I mean- there were cats there too! They were really friendly and.." I just stopped, looking at the ground.
"If it makes you feel any better, I totally ship it." She smiled, but there was sadness in her eyes.
The bell rang before I could say anything else.
"Oh no, we're going to be late!" Uraraka ran off towards the classroom.
I followed her inside, thinking about our conversation.
She seemed sad...what does that mean?
I shook my head, trying to focus on anything else.
When we entered the classroom, we were greeted by Mr. Aizawa's nonchalant voice.
"Midoriya and Uraraka, please get to class on time."
"Yes sir!" We answered in unison. We took our seats silently and looked up at Mr. Aizawa, who seemed like he was actually going to teach today.
"Alright class... we're going to have a field trip in a few weeks to help develop your quirks. It will be set up like camping, so be sure to bring appropriate items." He told us.
The class seemed to smile, except for Kacchan.
"Anyways, with that out of the way, we're going to continue with class." He told us.
So he's actually going to teach now? Cool.
I spent the rest of the class scribbling down notes from Mr. Aizawa's lecture. He was in the middle of a sentence when the bell rang, but was able to finish before everyone stood up.
"Okay.. we'll continue after lunch.." He walked out of the classroom, closing the door behind him.
After putting my things all in a nice order, I stood up and walked over to Uraraka and Iida.
"Hey." I greeted with a smile.
"Hello Midoriya~kun. I'm really glad Mr. Aizawa is taking our education into consideration now. Let's just hope that he continues with that."
"Yeah.." I looked over to Todoroki, who didn't seem to notice.
"Are you two ready to go to lunch? Personally, I'm starving." Uraraka asked. I couldn't see her facial expression. I was too busy looking at an angel's face.
"Yeah, let's go.. Midoriya~kun?" Iida's voice brought me out of my trance.
"Huh?! Oh..um.."
"Are you ready to go to lunch?" Uraraka asked. Her expression wasn't its usual bright and happy, but instead the same sad eyes looked up at me.
"Yeah, sorry.." I caught another glimpse of Todoroki's face as we walked out of the classroom.
Todoroki's POV:I felt someone looking at me, so I looked up from my notebook. I saw Midoriya quickly turn his head, but I just shook it off as my imagination. I gathered my things and stood up.
"Todoroki~kun, want to sit together at lunch?" I heard Yaoyorozu ask. I noticed that people were looking at us.
"Sure." I answered quietly. She nodded, her eyes bright.
We walked out of the classroom with a comfortable silence between us.
"Hey Todoroki~kun?"
"Mm?" I answered, not looking at her. I was looking around the cafeteria.
"I think people might ship us..Which is totally weird! But I think I can see why.."
"Oh.."
"Are you okay? You seem distracted."
"Oh..um.."
"Were you thinking of Midoriya~kun? You should just confess to him already!" My face turned a pink colour.
"I can't.."
"Why not?"
"He doesn't seem like he would be interested in me."
"Okay, Todoroki~kun, I know you're dense but seriously? You cannot be this dense! Midoriya~kun was literally staring at you!"
"He was?"
"Yes! Just tell him already. It's driving me crazy."
"How can I do that?"
"Leave him a note to meet you after school and then tell him! It might be scary, but I know he'll return your feelings."
"How can you know that?"
"Just trust me on this."
"Okay..I'll do it. Thank you Yaoyorozu~san."
She nodded with a smile. "Of course. That's what friends are for, right?"
I could only nod.
A few minutes before the bell would ring, I stood up and walked to the classroom, a note in my hand. I had written and rewritten so many different things, but I eventually found the right words. I set the note on his desk and walked out of the classroom. I didn't know where to go, so I just began to wander the halls a bit.Midoriya's POV:
The bell rang and everyone started throwing away their trash and making their way back to class. I was one of the first people back in the classroom. I saw a piece of paper on my desk and carefully unfolded it.
Midoriya,
Could you stay after school a few minutes? There's something I'd like to talk about.
It wasn't signed, so I could only guess what it was about and who wrote it. I put a list of everyone in our class through my head, trying to figure out who it was. I didn't recognize the handwriting, so I knew it couldn't be Uraraka or Iida. Great, that's two people off of my list. I don't think anyone like Mineta or Kaminari would write a note like this...it couldn't be Koda either. He doesn't talk to anyone.
I spent the rest of the class wondering who it was. My question would be answered as soon as school got out, but I couldn't wait that long. Curiosity was getting the best of me. I looked up at the clock, seeing that there was only a few minutes left of class. Now I was getting nervous.
What did they want to talk about? Is it Todoroki? Maybe..If it is him, why wouldn't he just text me? It's probably not him..
The bell rang.
I used the time to fill in my Hero Analysis book. After everyone had left the classroom, someone walked up to me. I looked up to see Todoroki.
"Were you the one who left the note?"
"Yeah.." His cheeks had a pink tint to them.
"What did you want to talk about?"
"U-Um..." He looked around, as if he was trying to find the right words.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah..I just.." He took a deep breath and looked down at me.
"Midoriya~kun..if you don't feel the same, please just be honest with me. I-I..really like you and-"
The classroom door flew open and we both turned to see Uraraka.
"S-Sorry! I just left something at my desk!" Uraraka quickly walked over to her desk, keeping her face away from us. She picked up and eraser that was supposedly in her desk.
"Got it! Sorry again." She offered a smile and quickly left, shutting the door behind her.
It took me a few moments to process everything. Even the confession. Wait- he likes me?! Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!
My brain was just jumping with joy. I looked up to see Todoroki looking away, his cheeks still pink.
"T-Todoroki~kun..I like you too.." I smiled up at him.Hey my little kittens! I'm so happy with this ending, and I think you guys are as well ^^
