Chapter Twelve

A/N: For convenience and and avoidance of repetition, I have decided to skip to Thursday at 6pm, an hour before Yaomomo's party. Also, in this universe, Halloween takes place on a Thursday, which would be the day of Yaomomo's party. (I meant to plan this better, but then it was suddenly the 30th XD send help.)

Midoriya's POV:

I was messing with my costume, trying to get it to sit right. I knew that I'd have limited time before Todoroki got here to take me to the party.
"Hey Mom?"
"Yes Izuku?" She walked into my room.
"Do I..look okay?
"Of course you do, Izuku. In fact, I think you look adorable." My mom smiled at me.
"Thanks Mom."
"Of course. Now..is there anything you want to eat before you go?"
"No thanks. I don't want to accidentally ruin my costume."
"Alright. Well-" The doorbell interrupted my mom. "That must be Todoroki~kun." She smiled and walked to the door.
"Oh no..I feel like I look stupid." I frowned and walked back over to my mirror.
"Oh, you look so cute, Todoroki~kun!" I suddenly felt very insecure in my baggy ghost costume. (A/N: Cannon costumes, by the way.)
When Todoroki walked in with my mother, all I could do was hide my face in embarrassment.
"I'll be in the kitchen if you two need anything. Please come say goodbye when you're leaving." My mom smiled and walked out of the room, leaving me alone with Todoroki.
"I told you that you would look cute." That was the first thing he said to me. I looked up to him, finally seeing that he was wearing a costume too. His dual-coloured hair was brushed off to the left side and he had a beautiful red and black cape. I immediately knew that he was dressed as a vampire.
"You don't think it's stupid?"
"Of course not."
"T-Thanks...you look good too." I smiled softly.
"Thank you..I thought that I'd look out of place if I didn't wear a costume." I smiled softly.
"Well, we should probably go..we shouldn't be late to Yaoyorozu~san's party." He suggested.
"Yeah, that's true." We walked out of my room and towards the door. "Bye Mom!" I called as we got to the door. As I unlocked it, my mom came around the corner, a smile on her face.
"Alright. You boys have fun." Her smile remained as she said that.
"Thanks." We waved goodbye and walked outside.
"I just noticed this, but you call Yaomomo~san by her last name instead of her nickname. Why's that?" I asked Todoroki curiously.
"I don't know.. I guess it's just a habit."
"Oh, okay. I just noticed that you and Iida~kun are the only ones that do that in our class."
"Yeah.."
"Are you nervous for the party?"
"Are you?"
"Not really. I'm excited to see what everyone dressed up as." I answered. I looked down at our hands.
"Yeah. I wonder if Bakugo~kun will dress up."
"I don't know. If he's challenged, then Kacchan will definitely dress up."
"Makes sense." He was looking around. I decided to take this opportunity to brush my hand against his, eventually holding onto it. I looked away, in case he would move his hand away, but he didn't. We were silent.
The rest of the walk was silent, but it was more comfortable as time passed. After a few minutes, we made it to Yaomomo's large home.
"Woah, this place is huge!"
"You've never been here before?"
"No, never! Have you?" I asked him.
"Yeah.. we've known each other for a while."
"Oh, well that's cool."
"Are you ready to go in?" He asked me. We were already at Yaomomo's front door.
"Yep!"
He rang the doorbell and looked over at me.
"Oh, hi! I'm so glad you guys made it." I saw Yaomomo and smiled softly. "You guys look so cute! I'm surprised to see you dressed up Todoroki~kun."
"I felt like I would be out of place if I didn't." He answered quietly.
"Well you wouldn't be wrong. Everyone who's here already is dressed up. Why don't you two come inside? I wouldn't want the others to think I've disappeared on them." She opened the door wider for us and I think she may have noticed our intertwined hands. Yaomomo looked up at Todoroki with a curious expression, but she seemed to be happy.
We walked in together, looking around. Yaomomo had decorated for the season with many fake pumpkins, ghosts, and ghouls. I noticed Kaminari talking with Jirou, who looked totally uninterested.
"Do you see Kirishima~kun and Kacchan?" I asked turning to Todoroki.
"No..they may not have shown up yet. I honestly doubt that Bakugo~kun will show up."
"Maybe.."
"Hey, Todoroki~kun, can I steal you for a few minutes? I need your advice." Yaomomo asked, walking up to us.
"Sure. I'll be back Midoriya~kun." He offered a soft smile and let go of my hand. I watched as they walked away, leaving me all by myself. (A/N: ALL BY MYSELLFFFF!! XD please send help XD)
I looked around, finding that everyone was already talking to someone and it would be awkward if I tried to join a conversation. Exploring it is then!
I started walking anywhere, taking in the scenery. After a few minutes, I began hearing footsteps behind me. I felt someone grab the back of my costume. I spun around seeing Kacchan, who was surprisingly dressed up as a werewolf.
"O-Oh, hi Kacchan. You dressed up.."
"Of course I did! That stupid Hair For Brains said that he'd look scarier. I definitely look scarier." He declared, his tone harsh.
"O-Oh well, I'm sure his costume is great.." Once he heard that, he took several steps towards me, grabbing the neck of my costume.
"What was that?!"
"N-Nothing! I was just saying that Kirishima~kun probably has a great costume..and you've got a good costume too-"
"Just good?!" He cut me off, his quirk starting to crackle and pop in his hand.
"T-That's not what I meant! I meant that I think everyone has a great costume today." I watched with wide eyes as he made his next move.

Todoroki's POV:

"Hey, thanks Todoroki~kun."
"For what?"
"Coming today and dressing up. It's your first time dressing up for Halloween, isn't it?"
"Yeah.."
"Well you did a good job."
"Thanks Yaoyorozu~san...but what did you need to steal me for?"
"I need your advice." By now, I realized that we were walking to the kitchen.
"With food?"
"With food and a person."
"Jirou?" I asked.
"Yeah..." When we entered the kitchen, I dipped my head softly at the chefs.
"Okay.."
"So..what do you think of these treats? Do they taste bad?" She asked as we stopped at a tray full of pumpkin shaped and decorated cookies. I picked one up, split it in half and offered a half to Yaoyorozu.
"You should try some yourself." I told her when she looked confused.
"Oh." We both took a bite, and her face lit up.
"That's really good. Did you make them?" I asked.
"Yeah. I was worried since I've never done anything like this...And since you're the one who makes treats at the cafe, you'd know a thing or two about sweets."
"You did a good job."
"Really?" I nodded. "Thank you.." We started walking out of the kitchen and back into the main room.
"You needed help with Jirou?"
"Yeah. How did you do it?"
"Do what?"
"Confess."
"Oh..I just told the truth."
"Oh."
"Yeah." I noticed Midoriya stumbling around, his eyes down. "Excuse me, Yaoyorozu~san."

Midoriya's POV:

I looked down at the floor, not really knowing where I was going. Kacchan got upset and decided to take it out on me again. I could still feel the pain on my cheek when he hit me. I walked up to a walk and leaned against it, taking a few moments for myself.
"Midoriya~kun? What happened?" I heard a sweet voice ask. I looked up to see Todoroki looking down at me, his frown deepened with concern.
"Oh..um..Kacchan got angry."
"Where does it hurt?" I pointed to my cheek, thinking he was just going to put ice on it. My eyes grew wide as he leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on my cheek. Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my-
Then everything went black.

Hey my little kittens! I hope you guys are having a wonderful day and a wonderful Halloween (if you celebrate the holiday.)
I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. I was literally using every single second of my free time to finish this chapter.
I have a really bad pain in the back of my head now T-T
This chapter was longer than I had planned it to be. Oh well..
