Midoriya's POV:
"I think I love you Izuku~kun..." My heart was beating faster as I looked up at the angel sitting next to me. I smiled at him.
"I think I love you too, Shoto~kun." I leaned against his shoulder once more, closing my eyes. We sat there in silence for a few more moments before I realized something.
"We never officially asked each other out...want to fix that?" I asked him. I saw him look down at me.
"Oh..that's right."
"Well, um, would you like to be my boyfriend, Shoto~kun?" I asked him. He responded a few seconds later.
"I'd love to.." There was a very soft smile on his face.
"For now, let's just keep it our little secret, okay?"
"Okay.."
We sat there in silence for a few more moments until loud voices interrupted our peace.
"We should probably go." I told Shoto.
"Yeah." We stood up and slipped our shoes back on. We walked back to the site, our fingers intertwined. When we got back, we regretfully pulled our hands away from each other, the warmth fading slowly. We saw Kacchan shouting at Uraraka, who was keeping his dinner floating.
"Give me my food, Round Face!"
"Hehe, never!" She was smiling widely. Every time Kacchan would jump for it or use his quirk to try and reach it, she lifted it higher. I felt a grin form on my face. That was, until Kacchan saw me.
"What're you grinning about Deku?!" He demanded and stalked towards me.
"Eep!" I hid myself behind Shoto, still smiling a little to myself.
"Icy Hot isn't going to stop me."
"Uh-" Shoto tried to intervene.
"I bet I could get Deku and my dinner before you could." Kacchan said, his eyes bright, clearly in a competitive mood.
"Bakugo~kun.." A voice called. I peeked my head out from behind Shoto to see Kirishima approaching the scene. Kacchan turned to look at Kirishima and took a moment to look at him before turning back to Shoto and speaking.
"C'mon, Icy Hot."
"The prize should be the other person's dinner!" Uraraka said, smiling brightly. She was clearly all for the idea.
"Um.." I looked up at Shoto.
"Why not.." He murmured.
"Are you sure, Sho- I mean Todoroki~kun?" I asked. Since people didn't know about us yet, I decided to go back to using his last name.
"Yeah."
"Alright, then it's decided! The first one to get Deku~kun from Kirishima~kun and get Bakugo~kun's dinner from me gets to have the other person's dinner."
"Wait, what? I didn't agree to this!" Kirishima told her.
"It wouldn't be manly for you to say no now." Uraraka teased.
"Fine! I'll do it. So I guess I try to keep Midoriya~kun away from Bakugo~kun and Todoroki~kun." He walked up to me. "Come on, Midoriya~kun, let's go find somewhere to chill."
"Um, okay." I walked with Kirishima to a more quiet place.
"Would it be manly to admit that I'm a little concerned for our safety?"
"I'm a little nervous too, Kirishima~kun, but I know Sh-Todoroki~kun has no intention of hurting either of us...and I don't think Kacchan would hurt you. You guys seem to get along better than anyone can with Kacchan." I told him.
"I guess you're right. We are friends, Bakugo~kun and I." We stopped at a nearby tree and Kirishima began to climb it.
"Um, Kirishima~kun, are you sure it's safe up there?" I asked him.
"Yeah, of course..and if you're worried about me, don't be. I used to climb trees all of the time." He got to one of the branches and sat down. "Want help up?" He asked.
"Um, sure.." He extended his hand to me and helped pull me up. He helped me get to one of the higher branches and sighed with content.
"This should be good enough. We're just out of sight, but not too high."
"Okay.."
"So...we'll probably be up here for a while, so why don't we talk about random things?"
"Like what?"
"Like you and Todoroki~kun." At this moment, I swear I could've fallen out of this tree.
"W-What are you talking about?" I asked him, suddenly very nervous.
"I've never seen you act the way you do when you're around him. Like earlier, when you hid behind him when Bakugo~kun confronted you."
"Oh...um, I guess that was just a heat of the moment kind of thing. Plus, Todoroki~kun is taller than me. Wouldn't you feel safer if you were hiding behind someone taller than you?" I asked him.
"I guess..."
"I've noticed that Kacchan doesn't hate you." I said, trying to change the topic to someone else.
"Yeah, I think we're friends, but he'd never say that."
"Yeah...Kacchan's like that.."
"How long have you known him?"
"We've known each other since we were toddlers..It helps that our moms were friends before we were born."
"That sounds nice..Was Bakugo~kun as hot headed and proud when he was younger?"
"He was definitely proud when we were younger. I think he may have been calmer, but he was a bully back then."
"Oh.."
"You're sharing a tent with him this field trip, right?"
"Yeah, I am. You're with Todoroki~kun? You guys are close, right?"
"Um, yeah, I guess you could say we're close."
"That's nice...I guess Mr. Aizawa secretly blessed some of us."
"Yeah..Will you be okay sharing a tent with Kacchan?"
"Yeah, his quirk doesn't affect me as badly as it would with other people."
"Oh..." By now, I heard Kacchan's voice. It sounded like he was getting closer.
"Is it against the rules to run away?" I asked Kirishima nervously.
"It wasn't specifically mentioned, but it would be unmanly to run away now!" He told me, giving me a toothy grin. (A/N: Kirishima's toothy grins are adorable, okay? XD)
"I guess I'll just accept my fate then. Come to my funeral please, Kirishima~kun." He responded with laughter.
"Bro, you'll be fine! It's not like Bakugo~kun will kill you."
"Better watch out Deku! When I find you, you're dead!"
"Gah! That's against the rules! Kirishima~kun!" I stared at him with wide eyes.
"Don't worry Midoriya~kun." He paused for a moment and then spoke again, but this time, he sounded exactly like Todoroki. "I'll protect you." It was that moment, I lost my balance. (A/N: It was at that moment, Izuku once again realized that he was gay. For Shoto.)
"Oh shoot, Midoriya~kun!" He reached out a hand to try to stop my fall, but it didn't help. I was already out of his reach. When I thought I would hit the ground, I instead fell into someone's arms. But not the arms I was expecting.
"What the hell, Deku?!" I was caught by Kacchan.
"Are you okay, Midoriya~kun?" Todoroki asked me as he approached us.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I answer.
"Bro, are you okay?!" Kirishima asked as he jumped down to the ground from one of the bottom branches.
"Yeah, I'm-"
"Whatever, I'm going to get my food now. Bye Kirishima~kun, later loser!" Kacchan ran off, pulling me along with him. He ran up to Uraraka. "Alright, Round Face, now give me my food."
"You have to actually grab it, Bakugo~kun." She smiled brightly at me.
"Fine!" He jumped up to grab it, failing. He then used his quirk to get himself higher into the air and reached for his food once more. He failed again, but on his third attempt, he finally got it. I looked to see Kirishima and Todoroki walking up to us. They seemed to have an understanding expression on their faces.
"Bakugo~kun is the winner!" She announced. "So it's time to surrender your dinner to Bakugo~kun, Todoroki~kun."
"Okay.." He went to our tent and grabbed a disposable bowl of soba. He handed it over to Kacchan, who had a proud expression on his face.
"Told you." He said to Todoroki and walked over to the newly created fire. I walked over to Shoto.
"Hey, do you want to share my dinner? It probably won't be as good as what you had, but you shouldn't go hungry." I offered.
"No, I don't want to take your food from you. I agreed to the challenge knowing the costs."
"I really don't mind!"
"Are you sure?"
"Of course!"
"Alright then.." I smiled brightly at him.
"I'll be back." I walked to the tent and picked up my bowl of instant katsudon. I picked up a pair of chopsticks and turned to get back out. When I got out of the tent, Shoto was right at the entrance, but a little off to the side. Slightly spooked, I said, "Shoto~kun, I could've dropped our dinner." I pouted.
"Sorry...I was getting my chopsticks.." He said.
"Oh...right." I made my way out of the tent and held the entrance open for him. We made the dinner and looked around.
"Do you want to go back to the lake and eat?"
"Sure.." I walked with him to the lake and sat down on a log. I set the bowl in my lap and took off the lid.
"What's your favourite food, Shoto~kun?"
"Cold soba." He answered immediately. I smiled at him.
"That much, huh?"
"Yeah...It's a comfort food for me. What about you, Izuku~kun?"
"Katsudon. My mom makes it all the time and it's kinda like a comfort food for me too." I picked up some of the steaming noodles and stuffed them in my mouth. Shoto hesitantly picked up some and ate it.
"Do you like it?" I asked.
"It's not cold soba good, but it's pretty good." He answered after a moment.
"I've never had cold soba before.." I admitted after a moment and I swear I heard a gasp from Shoto.
"That's another crime you've committed."
"Another?" I asked curiously.
"I'm pretty sure it's illegal for someone to be as cute as you are." He told me.
"S-Shoto~kun!" I felt my cheeks burn.
"What?" He tilted his head softly.
"We obviously know that's a lie. If anything, you're the one who's committing the crime of being too beautiful." He shook his head.
"No.."
"Yes. You're beautiful, Shoto~kun."
"No....I'm not."
"What makes you think that?" He just put a hand over his scar.
"I have scars too, Shoto~kun. It just shows that we're strong and we've survived. I think your scar is beautiful, and I'll love it for both of us until you learn to love it too." I told him, smiling softly.
"I don't deserve someone as wonderful as you, Izuku~kun."
"You deserve someone better than me."
"I don't think there's anyone more wonderful than you."
"I.." I just silently surrendered and shoved more katsudon in my mouth. We ate in silence, listening to the soft splashes of water against the ground. By the time we finished the katsudon, the sun was almost set.
"We should head back before it gets too dark." I nodded and stood up. We walked back to the campsite and looked around. Everyone was chatting by the fire with blankets, their dinner long gone.
"Wanna join them?" I asked Shoto.
"Sure.." We walked up to them after setting our things down in our tent.
"Where were you guys?" Uraraka asked us.
"Oh, we were sitting by the lake. It's really pretty to see the water while the sun sets." I told her, smiling softly.
"Oh..that sounds cool." She pat the ground next to her. "Come sit! We're just chatting." We nodded and joined the rest of our class on the ground. Everyone was there, even Kacchan. I looked around to see everyone chatting about random things, smiles and laughter filling the night. Looking up, I saw a million stars shining down on us and I thought to myself how extremely lucky I was.
