Midoriya's POV:
I watched the hands of the clock slowly tick by as I waited. It was Sunday, the day Uraraka and Tsu were supposed to come over. Iida had called last night to tell me he couldn't make it, family plans today. Should've figured.
"It's okay, at least Uraraka~chan and Tsu~chan can still make it." I told myself with a soft smile.
They could arrive any second now and all I could do was stare at the clock until something brought me out of this trance. I may have stayed there for several minutes before a doorbell ringing grabbed my attention.
I jumped up and walked to the door quickly. I opened it and saw Tsu and Uraraka chatting quietly. When they noticed me, they smiled.
"Hey, Deku~kun! Sorry we're a little late. I needed to run an errand." Uraraka apologized.
"It's okay! I'm just glad you guys could make it." I told them. I opened the door to let them walk in.
"Oh wow... your place is so clean, Midoriya~kun." Tsu said, looking around.
"Aha..thanks." We all sat down at the couch and looked at each other.
"Well, what do you guys want to do today?" I asked.
"I don't know..maybe we could watch a movie? It feels kind of like a movie day." Tsu suggested.
"Oh, that sounds good!" Uraraka agreed.
"Sounds good. There's a few movies in the cabinets under the TV and there's more in my room." I told them. "Want me to bring them out?" With a nod from both girls, I walked into my room. I picked up the movies and walked back out, setting them down in front of Tsu and Uraraka.
"What about this one?" Tsu asked pointing to a movie with a heroic looking cover. The main character was a petite girl who looked to be about our age.
"It looks interesting..." Uraraka said and then continued. "..but what about this one?" She picked up another super hero movie. The two girls looked at the movies and then back at each other.
It took them a few moments to decide, but they eventually went with the one Tsu picked out. I was in the kitchen popping some popcorn when they picked out the movie. They were putting it in the DVD player when I got an idea.
"Hey guys? Would it be okay if Small Might joined us?" I asked.
"Small Might?" Tsu asked curiously.
"The more the merrier!" Uraraka said right after Tsu's question.
"Oh, okay, great." I smiled softly and walked to my room. "Hey Small Might. I'm going to introduce you to some of my friends, okay?" I walked over to the little bunny and picked him up. When I walked back into the living room, I was greeted with gasps, quiet squeals, and 'aww's.
"Is this Small Might? He's such a cutie!" Uraraka said, smiling brightly. Both girls were seated next to each other on the coach. I brought the petite bunny to them and let them introduce themselves.
"I didn't know you had a bunny Deku~kun, when did you get him?" Uraraka asked.
"Christmas, from S-Todoroki~kun!" I smiled softly.
"You still call him Todoroki~kun? I thought you'd be on a first name basis since you're dating." I felt myself pale at Uraraka's observation.
"O-Oh..."
"Don't worry, Midoriya~kun, she didn't tell me. I figured it out after a while." Tsu told me.
"Oh..well...we are on a first name basis, but we didn't want everyone to find out yet, so I'm just used to calling him Todoroki~kun when I'm around others." I explained.
"Oh, that's understandable." Tsu said. I nodded and sat down next to Tsu, who was in the middle of the couch.
“Oh, um, I’m expecting a call sometime today, so if my phone does ring while I’m here, then you can just keep playing the movie.” Uraraka told us with a soft smile.
“O-Alright.” I looked down at Small Might who was curled up in my lap. I pressed the play button and the movie started. As Uraraka said, her phone rang. We were about an hour into the movie when she smiled apologetically and stood up.
“I’ll be outside if you guys need me.” She said and stepped out of the apartment door. As soon as she left, I turned to Tsu.
“Do you know who’s calling her? I don’t want to pry, but she did look a little down when it rang.” I said to Tsu.
“I don’t know specifically, but it could be her boss. She said she recently took up a job to help her parents pay bills.” Tsu explained.
“Oh..I didn’t know she had to do that.” I frowned softly.
“I didn’t either, but she wouldn’t want us to pity her. Uraraka~chan’s a strong girl, she’s been through a lot.” She said.
“Yeah..I’ll be back.” I murmured and picked up Small Might. The little bunny let out a squeak of protest as I gently offered him to Tsu. “Do you mind holding him for a little?” I asked her.
“Not at all.” She took Small Might from my hands and set him on her lap.
“Thanks.” I smiled softly and walked off to my room. I just needed to walk around. My legs were starting to fall asleep while Small Might was on my lap.
I used this time to stretch. While I was stretching, my eyes caught the sight of my scarred cheek in the mirror. I couldn’t help but walk over to the full body mirror on the floor. I sat down in front of it and stared at the scar. I put my hand up to it and faintly sighed. I knew how easy it could be to start hating it, but I wanted to appreciate it. I got the scar because I was rescuing innocent people. The texture feels weird though. I heard myself giggle because of my mind’s ridiculous comment.
“I’m just glad that this is the only visible scar..and I can appreciate its origin.” I said aloud. I stood up and walked towards the door.
When I got back to the living room, Uraraka was still outside. I sat down next to Tsu and looked at Small Might.
“Well it looks like he likes you.” I commented. Small Might was sleeping peacefully on Tsu’s lap.
“I think it’s because we both appreciate warmth.” The petite girl responded.
“Yeah, I guess that’s true.” I said, smiling softly.
The door opened and Uraraka walked back in with a small frown.
“Hey guys. You didn’t have to pause the movie, you know.” She said, her frown disappearing.
“Oh, it’s fine, we were both doing our own things anyways.” Tsu told her.
“Oh.” She walked over to us. “It looks like Small Might likes you too, Tsu~chan.” Uraraka said as she sat down next to her.
“Yeah, I guess he does.” Tsu responded. She looked up at me. “Are you ready to start playing the movie?” She asked.
“Oh, right, yeah.” I picked up the remote from the table and sat down on the couch.Uraraka's POV:
After a few hours, we ended up watching both movies. Deku, Tsu, and Small Might were all asleep. It was almost 6pm, which meant I would have to go home soon. I heard my phone chirp as I got a message. I frowned.
Boss- Do you have any evidence yet?
U- Yeah, I do.
Boss- Great, be sure to stop by tonight before you go home.
U- Will do.
I turned off my phone and looked at my two green haired friends. I tapped Tsu's shoulder until she woke up.
"Mmm...I'm sleeping.." She murmured sleepily.
"Tsu~chan..wake up please. It's almost 6pm." I told her. She slowly opened her eyes.
"Oh...we should probably go then. Should we wake Midoriya~kun?" She asked.
"Probably. We should let him know that we're going home."
"Okay.." She shook Deku until he woke up. He was up quickly.
"Oh, did I fall asleep? I'm sorry!" He apologized.
"It's okay, I did too." Tsu told him.
"Oh."
"Well, um, Tsu~chan and I are going to head home, it's getting pretty late. I had fun today." I told him with a smile.
"Oh, okay, I had fun too. Thanks for coming over." He responded, smiling.
We all stood up and exchanged hugs before walking to the door. Tsu and I slipped on our shoes and walked out the door.
"See you tomorrow, Midoriya~kun."
"Bye Deku~kun."
"See you tomorrow!" He said. I heard the door shut as we started walking down the stairs.
As soon as we got away from the apartments, Tsu spoke to me.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"What do you mean?"
"You seemed kinda down after getting that call. Is everything okay at work? Where do you even work? I don't mean to pry, but if you're not happy, then maybe find another job." She looked up at me.
"Everything's fine at work, and plus, I couldn't just quit. There's not another job that pays as well as this one does."
"Is it legal?" Tsu asked.
"Of course! You don't think I'd do anything illegal, right?" I felt a pang of betrayal.
"No, of course. I didn't mean it like that. It's just, you said it makes a lot of money. You're barely 15...how are you able to find a well paying job?"
"It's an investigation and I'm perfectly safe. That's all I can say, I'm sorry Tsu~chan, I hope you understand."
"It's okay, Ochako~chan, and I'm sorry for doubting you." She smiled up at me. I felt bad for keeping it a secret, but I couldn't exactly tell anyone.
"I um, need to stop by work to pick something up. I'll see you on Monday?"
"Yeah, of course. Stay safe." Tsu told me. She gave me a warm hug and walked away. I sighed softly and walked over to my boss's house. I knocked on the door and waited until he opened the door.
"Ah, Uraraka. Come in." He held the door for me and we walked to his office. He sat down in the chair behind the desk.
"You said you have evidence?" He asked me.
"Yeah...but.." I felt nervousness bubble up in my throat. "..I don't think I can do this anymore."
"What? Think about the money, Uraraka. Think about your parents? Do you really want them to be poorer than poor again?" He asked me. I felt guilty for even considering quitting. But then again, I felt guilty for doing this job.
"No, I guess I don't want that."
"Good. Then tell me what you found out."Hey my little kittens! Sorry for the delay, I've been extremely busy with school work and ice-skating.
