Midoriya's POV:
I watched as the boys aggressively played, Kacchan and his team members destroying the other team. I kind of felt bad for the other team. Once their time was up, our coach announced the score. I watched as Kacchan's team celebrated, some telling the opposing team how well they did, even if they didn't win. I smiled softly, glad to see how well everyone was interacting with each other.
I watched as the girls talked with each other as they walked up to Kacchan's team. They seemed pretty energetic as they greeted the other team, wishing them well. I heard the coach countdown and blow the whistle, the game starting.
This game stood more of a chance than the last one. With Yaomomo on their side, the girls had a plan. They also had the previous game to watch and see how Kacchan's team would act and their plan. There wasn't much time to watch, but I know I was able to get something from it. If I was able to get something, then Yamomo must've as well. She was much brighter than me and had great observation skills. I felt mesmerized by their game, my eyes unable to leave the field until the game was over.
The score was close, Yaomomo's team only winning by a point. I heard the girls cheer and hug each other. To see them so happy after winning a basketball game made me smile as well. It reminded me that we were just teenagers, not adults yet. I realized that we still have a few more years until we have to be adults. Not that that gives us an excuse to slack off, but we don't have to be stressed about everything either. (A/N: I feel like I really need someone to tell me this XD. I've been a lot less stressed recently, but I still do get super stressed about my future and adult stuff a lot. And if you're anything like me, you probably understand where I'm coming from.)
I was a little worried about Kacchan and his team. Since he has a history of being a sore loser, I thought he'd get mad. But when I looked over at him, I was surprised to see him laughing. For a moment, I was tempted to ask him if he was okay. He was just talking to his teammates, occasionally getting on to Kaminari. But all around, he seemed like a mature person who had just lost a game. When he walked up to Yaomomo's team, he was mature and even laughed at something Mina said. I honestly thought about calling an exorcist.
Everyone seemed happier, probably due to the fact that Shoto and Kirishima were safe and it was our last day before summer break. Throughout the gym class, I noticed that everyone was brighter and worked really hard to win against the other team. Even though it wasn't a life or death situation, everyone was trying really hard to win, which is what I hoped they would do as heros. Sitting out during gym made me realize something that you couldn't just write down about someone in a notebook. I realized our childhood was slowly slipping away from us every day. Especially as we trained to be the next generation of heros. I sat there for a few moments, the thought echoing in my head.
The bell at the end of the day cut through my thoughts. I looked up and saw everyone heading back to the locker rooms. Our last class of the semester was a success. I slowly stood up and picked up my notebook and pencil, which I didn't end up needing anyways. I put them in my backpack and went to wait for Yaomomo to change. I stood against the wall, pulling my phone out. I sent a quick message to my mom, telling her that we were going to get Shoto a box of sugar cookies before visiting him. I waited for her response, but Yaomomo was out of the girl's locker room.
"Ready to go?" She asked as the door shut behind her.
"Yup! Where should we go to buy the cookies?"
"There's this bakery by my house that we used to go to when he wasn't busy. I think we should try going there." She told me.
"Alright, then lead the way!" As we left the gym, we said goodbye to a few of our classmates. Once we were outside, we were greeted with a warm breeze. It felt nice compared to the colder weather we've been having lately. However, I knew this nice temperature would turn hot quickly.
