"Babe," I said gently, leaning over Kaycee. "Get uppppppp."
"Sean?" she groaned and rolled over. Her hair a mess, no makeup on, sleeping in my oversized tee shirt and long flannel pajama pants that were loosely tied, enabling my imagination to run wild, she looked perfect. I was a lucky lucky man. "What could possibly be so important that we're getting up at," she turned over to check the clock, "7:30 AM?"
"Guess what day it is?" I could barely contain my excitement.
"Yes, I know it's our one month, but we have the whole day," she moaned. "They're still filming three more days of Qualifiers, we don't even have to do anything for so longgggg, why can't I just sleep?" she pulled the pillow back over her head.
"Nope, missy, we have a class tonight, and we promised Eva we'd watch her, so we really don't," I said, lifting it off of her head. Her hair fanned out on the sheets and I resisted my temptation. Stay strong, Sean. Stay strong. "Now come on, get up," I gently coaxed her.
"Not unless you have food," she said triumphantly. I waggled my finger in front of her face.
"But you just wait, mademoiselle."
"You're enjoying this way too much," she pouted. I returned from the dresser with a plate of steaming cinnamon rolls and an iced caramel coffee with cream (her favorite, even in wintertime). Kaycee eyed the plate warily. "Where's this from?" she gestured to the rolls before taking one. "I made them this morning in the kitchen with Michael and Zack. I taught them how to make a fast sugary treat for themselves before training," I said sheepishly. Kaycee eagerly bit into it and closed her eyes in pleasure. "Good?" I asked her. She finished chewing and took a sip of her coffee, then swung her legs off over the bed and got up and wrapped her arms around my neck, standing on her tiptoes. "I love you babe," she said, her breath smelling of cinnamon. "I love you too," I said, encasing her with my arms on the small of her back. "And I have a lot of stuff for us to do."
"You know I'd be fine just watching Friends, right?" she looked at me. "I don't need anything special, I just want to be with you."
"Kaycee Rice, you have never been on the eastern half of this country," I said, stroking her hair. "And we can watch Friends tonight. Now get ready, because there's a lot of things you need to see before we go back to L.A."
"Hopefully that isn't soon!" Kaycee cried. I rolled my eyes. "I know, Kayc, obviously, but it only gets harder from here, and we don't know when the next time we get down time like this is going to be."
"True," she said. Then she squeezed my hand and planted a kiss on my lips before breaking away. "Let's do it," she said, and then she disappeared behind the bathroom door. "I have to shower and get ready," she called through. "I don't even know what you wear when it's cold."
