Hayes POV
Hazel was getting sleepy in my arms.
She lay down next to me cuddling into my side.
I wrapped the blankets around her little body.
Her cheeks were still stained with tears, it broke my heart to see her this way.
My mom was waiting at the door for Nash to come home.
She was terrified that they would go back to Jacks house.
Hazels eyes slowly closed and I watched her fall asleep in my arms.
She looked so peaceful sleeping, her face was beautiful her eyelashes fluttering in her sleep.
How could he hurt her like this? Seeing all her bruises and scars sickened me.
She had kept such a big secret from me for so long.
I thought back to the day when I first met her at her locker.
I had seen the bruises decorating her skinny arms. I didn't even think anything of it.
I should of asked her about it, I could of stopped this.
This made me realise how stupid I was being, this girl had suffered so much more than I had.
I had considered telling her what was happening with Dylan.
How stupid of me I thought.
The bullies were nothing.
I heard my mom yelling at me from the front of the house.
"Oh they're here! Hayes! Hayes, oh thank god!"
I ran out leaving Hazel asleep on the couch. I saw Nash running followed closely by Jack Gilinsky.
" What the hell is happening?" Nash said looking confused.
"Where is Jack!" I said
Jack Gilinksy waved a hand at me looking more confused than Nash.
"The other Jack!"
They looked towards the car and I saw his blonde head getting out of the car, running up to join the boys. The other guys were still in the car.
I was so relieved to see him. My mom let out a cry.
"What's wrong??" he said worried.
He looked at our faces.
Jack turned pale suddenly, his eyes glazed over.
"Hazel. HAZEL where is she?!"
"It's ok, she's safe she's sleeping inside. But you can't go home tonight, the two of you are in danger" my mom said.
Jack sunk down onto the floor and Gilinsky sat down beside him and put an arm around his shoulder.
My mom told them how I brought Hazel home and she told us everything.
We explained how her dad was going to try kill her and she couldn't get through to Jack on the phone.
I saw Jack about to cry turning on his phone and seeing the missed calls and messages.
He told us everything that Hazel had, about their Dad and the abuse.
I still couldn't believe this had been happening all along.
Mom told we to go in and stay with Hazel for the night incase she woke up.
"We have some business to take care of" she said firmly.
I admired my mom for how strong she was. I trusted her to sort things out.
I didn't question her and checked that Skylynn was asleep upstairs and then went back into the living room closing the door behind me.
Hazel was snoring softly.
I heard the front door slam and they joined the boys in the rest of the car.
Where were they going?
I didn't worry about it, Hazel was safe that was all that mattered.
I lay down next to her on the couch and found myself falling asleep.
She was safe now, that was all that mattered.
