Hazels POV

"Oh hey guys!"

Dylan, James, Tyler, Anna and Zoe were walking over towards our table.

"Ye remember Hayes don't ye?" I said looking over at Hayes he was staring out the window his face expressionless.

Anna pulled over a chair and the rest squished into the seats next to us.

"You don't mind if we join you?" Dylan asked politely sitting down next to me.

"No it's fine!" I said reassuringly.

Dylan could be really nice when he wasn't drunk or being a total douche.

Anna and Zoe were telling me all about their plans for the summer holidays.

I just smiled thinking of seeing my mom later on.

"So Hayes, how are you liking it here?" Dylan said grinning widely at Hayes.

"It's fine" he said quietly looking down at his feet.

He was really shy in a big group, I was hoping he could get to know some of the guys.

I could already see Zoe checking him out.

"And are you and Hayes a thing?" Dylan asked.

"Oh no, were just friends" I said quickly.

"Oh really? Interesting" Dylan said holding eye contact with Hayes while he sipped his drink.

Hayes face was blank I could tell he was annoyed by something.

I watched Zoe flick her hair and try flirt with Hayes but he talked to her awkwardly and shift his body a little to the left whenever she moved in closer to him.

I wanted to laugh.

We chatted around the table for awhile then Jack texted me.

'Can you be home in ten? Me and Jack G could use some help. Making a dinner for mom.'

I told everyone that I had to go getting up from the table.

"Yeah, I better get going too" Hayes mumbled.

"You can stay with us Hayes, play some basketball maybe ?" Dylan said kindly.

I gave Hayes a look to tell him it was ok to stay.

These guys were really nice, Hayes would have fun with them.

"Thanks but no" he said stuffing his hands in his pockets.

I shrugged and walked out with Hayes saying goodbye to everyone before I left.

Hayes POV

I walked out with Hazel, annoyed.

Dylan had put on an act around Hazel, pretending to be nice to me infront of her.

But when he talked to me I could see James and Tyler sniggering a little, a small smirk forming on Dylan's face.

He was mocking me, but no one else had noticed.

I had left with Hazel, knowing very well that if I had stayed we wouldn't of been playing just basketball.

I could tell Hazel was a bit disappointed that I didn't stay.

She just wanted me to become friends with them and I was angry at myself that I wasn't good enough for them.

I was worthless, pathetic, no one liked me.

I dropped Hazel home and she gave me a quick hug and told me to call over with my mom later on.

Her smile was contagious she looked so excited and happy.

"See you later Hazel"

I could never tell her about Dylan and the boys.

She watched me walk down her drive and waved me off before I turned down the corner.

I got home and I saw Skylynn waving at me from the window.

It had been ages since I played with her, I immediately felt guilty.

I ran in scooping her up into my arms and played horses and dolls and princesses with her for the rest of the afternoon.
