We were pretty scared to go back to the house alone.
Our dad was only renting it so mom would be able to take over when she came.
She was going to be arriving in two days time. I was excited to see her, we had been really close before she left.
I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders, I didn't have anything to worry about anymore.
Nash, Hayes and Cameron walked home with us, Jack Gilinsky and my brother side by side as usual.
"Can we get some food?" Nash asked stopping at the corner shop.
"Or you could always make us some since your whipped?" Jack G suggested and Nash gave him a dig.
We went in and bought some chips and things while me and Hayes found the biggest tub of ice cream we could find.
"To the Johnson household then" Nash yelled and we all marched army style with bags in our hands.
Elizabeth thought it would be a good idea for the five of us to have a sleepover that night.
We had rented a few DVDS and Elizabeth said she'd call over if we wanted her to.
She had given me her phone number and told me to text her if I needed to.
She was really sweet.
I felt a bit uneasy walking into the house, as if Dad would jump out at me at any time.
The boys ran into the kitchen to turn on the oven.
Cameron noticed that I had gone a bit quiet.
"Hey kiddo" he said gently putting an arm around my shoulder and squeezing me.
"Things are going uphill, don't be afraid anymore "
I smiled up at him, he was right.
My mom was coming home, Dad couldn't hurt me anymore,
I had made what seemed like a truly best friend.
He was right. Things couldn't get any better than this.
