Chapter 9

HAYES POV

I was nervous, really nervous. I didn't want to be here, I felt tense almost afraid.

My heart was racing.

The palms of my hands were breaking out in a cold sweat.

As soon as I walked in the loud music exploded in my ear and all I could see were people everywhere.

Dancing, talking, drinking.

I couldn't freak out here.

I didn't want to ruin this for Hazel, I looked down at her and her brown eyes were sparkling and her smile was so beautiful.

She dragged we across the room where she had spotted some of her friends.

Oh god no.

HAZELS POV

I spotted Dylan, Joe and some of the girls straight away. I pulled Hayes over with me.

He seemed uncomfortable a little worried.

There was nothing to be worried about, my friends were going to love him.

I introduced him straight away.

Dylan had stopped laughing his eyes suddenly cold.

"Oh yeah, I know this kid from school"

His words were causal but they came out strange.

He made eye contact with Hayes and I saw a flash of something in his eyes. Anger?

He stopped suddenly looking down at me.

" Wow babe you look great" he said looking me up and down.

A couple others joined in agreeing with him.

He always called me babe even though we weren't a thing anymore.

I thanked them and starting talking to some of the girls.

I looked over to see some of the boys were talking to Hayes.

Whatever drink Anna got her hands on it was most definitely not her usual Pepsi.

She was really giddy and slurring her words.

"C'mon let's play truth or dare!" she yelled in my ear bopping around to the music.

"I think I'm ok" I said

"No c'mon it will be fun!"

Before I knew it Anna was pulling me into the back room where people were sitting around in a circle.

"Ye guys playing?" Dylan asked.

Anna nodded before I could say anything and I sat down reluctantly beside her.

Hayes must of been still in the living room. I assumed he was fine, with some of the other guys.

We played for a while and then Alex asked me.

" Truth or dare.. Hazel!"

"Dare pick dare!" Anna said giggling stroking my cheek.

"Yeah ok dare" I said not really worried about it. Most of the dares so far had been really easy.

"I dare you to drink all of this"

Oh crap. He was holding a bottle of clear liquid that was obviously not water.

I never drank at parties and I really didn't want to.

He threw it over to me and everyone started chanting me on.
