Chapter 30

Hazels POV

I woke up to the smell of cooking downstairs. I got up lazily and went down the stairs.

Mom was standing in the kitchen with a frying pan in her hand flipping pancakes.

Her blonde hair was swept back into a ponytail and she was wearing a striped red jumper.

Her warm hazel eyes looked over at me smiling.

"Good morning honey, do you want some?" I nodded slipping into a chair wiping the sleep out of my eyes.

This is what our lazy Saturday mornings used to always be like when I lived with mom.

Pancakes with strawberries and Nutella.

"Call your brother theirs are ready" my mom said pointing her spatula towards the living room.

I dragged myself into the living room.

"Jack get up your foods ready"

He groaned and stretched out his arms, hitting Gilinsky in the face.

I started hitting them with cushions and they got up following me into the kitchen.

We all sat down together at the table like a real family eating our pancakes and discussing our day.

Mom was unpacking for the whole day she told us, we offered to help but she insisted that we did our own thing, Elizabeth was going to call over and help her.

I texted Anna and the two of us including Zoe were gonna hang out.

I got up thanking my mom and rushed upstairs to get ready.

After I showered I picked something to wear.

I put on some music while I got ready.

I put on a pair of high waisted jeans with a white crop top and a checked shirt around my waist.

I fixed my hair just leaving it down, it nearly reached my belly button.

I put on a little makeup, I wasn't that into a full face of makeup all the time.

I put on my Nike blazers and my phone went off.

"Hey Hazel, I'm outside your house now"

I laughed Anna never walked in she always waited outside.

"C'mon up to me!"

A few seconds she came up to my bedroom.

She sat down on my bed connecting to our wifi and telling me the latest scandal and gossip about Jessica and James.

Minutes later I heard someone running up the stairs, Zoe.

Zoe would walk straight into your house, use your shower and eat all your food.

"I HAVE ARRIVED."

Zoe strutted into the room the two of us laughing at her.

I had missed hanging out with my girls.

I was a bit closer with Zoe but as a three we worked really well together.

They both met my mom, I explained to them how my dad had left for work and my mom was taking care of us now.

I didn't have to tell them the truth.

"Do you miss him? I'd miss my dad so much!" Anna said looking shocked when I told her.

I shrugged.

"I missed my mom way more" I said.

Zoe was parading around the room since the music had turned to one of her favourites songs.

"Ok so what do you wanna do?" Zoe asked.

"Let's go to the mall, we have so much stuff to tell you! We can get coffee?" Anna suggested.

We agreed and left for the mall it was about a ten minute walk.
