It was raining heavily outside, we ran through it getting soaked.

You could hear the distant sound of thunder, anxiously awaiting the lighting that would follow.

Tyler let us into his house, we soon heard the loud voices from the living room.

Dylan and some of the other guys were sprawled out on his sofas taking up most of them room.

"Ladies, do sit" James said winking at us.

We all laughed finding a seat amongst them and Tyler threw on a movie.

I found myself in the corner, sat closely next to Dylan.

After the girls had told me, I noticed him trying to make an effort with me and being nicer than he used to be.

"Why would you put on a scary movie?" Anna whined curled up on the couch.

Zoe was loving it sitting on the floor close to the TV.

You could see Tyler sitting next to her trying to cuddle her when something scary happened but she kept pushing him away from her.

" Nasty dragon, don't touch me!" she yelled pulling away from him.

Tyler's master plan seemed to have failed dramatically since Zoe had a die hard passion for horror movies.

"Your not scared are you Hazel?" Dylan joked looking at me with his dark blue eyes.

"Don't even think of trying that on me" I laughed shaking my head at Zoe tackling Tyler on the floor.

"Only if you want me to" Dylan said and he winked at me.

I shrugged my shoulders and leaned in against him and he put an arm around my waist.

It felt so wrong but so right, everything was familiar to me.

I didn't want myself to but I did.

I remembered his cologne well from when we had been going out.

He loaded it on, you could always smell him coming into a room, I was used to it.

"Look the rains stopped!" Anna said

We looked outside and the sky was after clearing, the dark nights sky was settling in.

I had completely lost track of time, it was about half eight.

"Come on let's go to the beach, look at the sun setting" Anna said gazing up at the sky

After some convincing Anna had us all strolling down the road down towards the beach, to watch the sunset.

Wow how cliché.

Hayes POV

Hazel never came. I gave up after ringing her twice, she must of had her phone on silent.

It was about half eight and I needed to get out. My head was throbbing from an endless headache and I all I wanted was some fresh air.

I pulled on some board shorts, leaving on my shirt.

I decided to go down and walk the beach.

Clear your mind, relax yourself I thought

That's what my counsellor told me whenever I felt myself starting to stress about things.

It could prevent an anxiety attack, and I was having a lot recently.

It was just staring to get dark, you could see the sun going down at the horizon.

I told Mom where I was going and left the house.

~

Hazels POV

I sat down up in the sand dunes watching the boys messing around near the water splashing Anna and Zoe.

Dylan ran up to me covered in sand.

"Come on down, I'll give you a piggy back" he said beckoning me to get up.

"Nah I'm good here" I said stretching out my legs.

Dylan shrugged and sat down next to me.

"It's really pretty isn't it?" He said looking out at the sunset.

I nodded running my hands through the soft sand.

"It reminds me of your eyes actually" he said softly.

"Dylan my eyes are brown"

"Oh right yeah, but they're really pretty"

I rolled my eyes and he sat in closer to me.

"Hazel you know I want you back right?" he asked.

He told me how he was a different person and how he changed for me.

Listening to what he said,

I actually kinda believed him.

He leaned in to me his lips just centimetres from my own.

"Dylan no, we cant" I whispered.

Without permission he pressed his lips roughly against mine, pulling me closer to him. He had one hand around my neck, placing his hand at my weak spot, rubbing it with his fingers.

I found myself weakening.

Don't do this again I thought

I didn't want to, I wanted to pull away from him but I found myself kissing him back.

~

Hayes POV

I reached the top of the beach looking out at the sea.

There were a few people running around at the edge of the water.

I could only make out the silhouettes of them, it was getting dark.

I took the pathway down the sand dunes, plunging my feet into the soft sand.

I could here people close by.

I turned to my left and froze, my fists clenched at my sides.

I felt my whole body tensing.

Hazel.

She was sitting down, partially concealed around the long grass but I could make out her blonde hair and the head of light brown hair beside her.

They were kissing, looking at them for those few seconds killed me.

So this is where she was, instead of with me.

I turned away and started walking back, she must of noticed me by now and I could hear her calling from behind.

"Hey! Hayes"

Hayes, where are you going?"

Even the sound of her sweet voice wouldn't stop me.

I kept walking without turning around.

Of course Dylan would get Hazel, he was the perfect guy for her.

I liked her so much that it hurt but

I was just her irrelevant friend.

I was worthless, pathetic, no one liked me.

It wouldn't take long before Hazel realised this.

I was only a novelty.

I nearly ran home in frustration, I was angry at myself, fed up, hurt.

I needed someone to talk to, but then I realised there was no one.
