" Hey Jack, is Hazel there?"

"Yeah she's upstairs in her room, go on up"

Jack opened the door and stood aside to let me pass him. I walked up the stairs towards Hazels room.

I knocked and there was no answer.

"Hazel?"

I poked my head around the door.

I saw a bundle of blankets on her bed, the shape of a small body curled up in a little ball underneath.

This made me smile.

I walked in slowly, dodging all the clothes and shoes littered across the carpet.

The occasional cup or plate with unfinished food.

Wow she was messy.

I sat down gently on the bed beside her shaking her body, she was fast asleep snoring.

"Hazel!"

She turned around stretching her arms.

"Hazel Johnson it is one o'clock and you are still in bed" I said as she looked up grumpily at me.

"I went back to sleep for about two minutes"

"Come on, get up and get dressed"

She moaned rolling over onto the other side of the bed.

She patted the bed telling me to lie down.

"At least keep me company while I lie here" she muffled.

I sighed and got in beside her, she draped the duvet over me.

"You see, so much better when your in bed" she said smiling up at me.

She looked so cute in her fluffy pyjamas with her blonde hair all bed ruffled.

I could look into her brown eyes forever.

"What is this?" I said picking up a black and white teddy bear behind my head and dangled it above her.

"Ohh that's just Amanda" she said, smiling a little.

"Very mature" I teased.

She nudged me in the side and a few seconds later we were wrestling each other like two brothers.

"Ok ok mercy!" I begged.

She was sitting on top of me and had my arms pinned above my head.

I had been letting her win by the way. Just to clarify things.

"C'mon let's go for a walk or something" Hazel suggested and she pulled me up off her bed and made me lock myself into her ensuite while she changed.

"Bring a jumper, it's kinda cold outside" I told her before we left the house.

"Shut up mom, I'll be fine"

We decided to walk the cliffs, there was a narrow over grown path up along and there was amazing scenery.

I had never been there before and Hazel was telling me how great it was while we were walking there.

As skin as we started walking further up hill I could see goosebumps along Hazels sallow arms.

"Here take this" I said pulling off my jumper and handed it to her.

She objected but I insisted she wore it.

It hung off her but she still managed to look really good.

The track was overgrown with lots of nettles and prickly stuff so we started stomping on it all.

After ten minutes of walking Hazel stopped looking out at the sea.

"Hayes, look how beautiful it is" she breathed.

Her eyes were huge looking out at the amazing scenery.

The sea stretched out as far as you could see, crystal blue water glistening underneath the afternoon sun.

You could see the small ripple of the waves rolling in towards the shore.

"It's the same colour as your eyes" she said looking up at me.

Her eyes bore in to mine and right at that moment looking into her chocolate brown eyes I felt my heart race.

We stood there in the comfortable silence just looking out at the landscape and without realising it I had my arm around her shoulder.

I glanced down at her head resting against my shoulder, her face was so relaxed and her blonde hair was blowing in the strong wind.

Everyday I felt myself falling for her.

Everything about her, those brown eyes and her beautiful smile.

It just hurt to know that I was the only one falling.
