Hazels POV

The next morning I got up early and rang Hayes.

"Five minutes at the beach be ready" I said down the phone and hung up.

I pulled on my favourite bikini and threw Hayes's jumper over me.

I plaited my hair loosely and threw it behind my back.

I was in a surprisingly good mood despite the nights sleep I had.

I kept waking up screaming, not able to remember the dreams that had haunted me.

Jack kept running into me to stop me and tell me I was ok.

I went downstairs to get a drink and left the house with my surfboard.

I was excited for the beach, it felt like ages since I had been with Hayes and I missed it so much.

I saw him sitting on the sand with his lime green board beside him.

His black hair was messy as if he had just gotten out of bed.

He waved when he saw me his light blues glistening with happiness.

I ran over to him jumping into his arms and we stood there for ages refusing to let go of the hug.

He held me for ages the two of us laughing.

"I missed you Hayes Grier" I said happily.

He nodded and he took my hand and we ran down towards the water.

"I'm going to miss you too Hazel" he murmured.

I plunged beneath the water his words echoing in my ears. Did he say he was going to miss me?

I ignored what he said diving under the waves and amercing myself in the foamy white water.

"These waves are amazing" Hayes yelled hopping on to his surfboard.

"Race you" I shouted.

I clambered up on top of my board, spreading my feet apart balanced perfectly.

We caught the perfect wave and thundered out towards the shore.

I felt the wind on my face, sprays of water splashing up on me.

I looked over at Hayes he was already looking at me smiling widely.

Standing on my boards for those few seconds I felt infinite as if I was flying above the water, soaring above the waves.

Eventually I fell from my board collapsing into the shallow water.

Hayes laughed following me and we sat in the water grabbing wet sand and threw it at each other.

"Hayes stop!" I squealed running back into the waves.

I swam further out until I was on my toes, waving at Hayes to follow me out.

The waves were calmer and we could swim easily.

"I'd love to go to the cave right now" Hayes said wistfully looking over towards the cliffs.

"Let's go" I agreed.

We swam lazily over letting the current drag us towards the foot of the cave.

"I love it here" I said crawling into the safety of the small little cave.

Hayes followed me in covered in sand.

He lay down beside me, I felt his warm skin against mine.
