Eia and Aria are both holding my hands while we were feeling the sun on our exposed skin. Unable to contain this surreal feeling, I needed their comfort, their support.
"Hey, it's okay. It's going to be okay."Sofia murmured as she kept on squeezing my hand.
"I don't understand what I feel, ladies."I admitted. "Do I look okay?"
"Oh babe, you didn't ask that!"My sister mumbled, rolling her eyeballs. "You are the prettiest girl in this place! This is your day, Cailee. I promise you, it's all going to be fine."
"Alright gorg, breathe in."Sofia chirped and I followed. "And out. Breathe in, breathe out. Cool, it's my turn."
Sofie ran towards the entrance arch embedded with fresh flowers. Zeus stood beside her since he is her escort. I got out from my jitters when I eyed Tala looking austerely at my bestfriend who's now linking her arm with Zeus' as they treaded on the walkway. She still likes him. She's now nineteen, a very charming nineteen-year-old. I wonder if the feeling is mutual. But Zeus was never into a serious relationship before. He's even single now.
So is Sofia, the youngest vice-mayor awarded with achievements that I'm so proud of. I can still remember that very day she realized that serving the country is what she wants. It only began with that speech regarding our national anthem's last line being altered. And here is my big bunny now! She's now a good public servant who doesn't care about marriage or maybe she does. From the looks of it, she seemed to want to marry the status of being single. Sarcasm intended.
"Are you okay now, Cailee?"Aria asked, getting me out of my reverie.
"Yes. I'm okay. Kevin's not going to run away, right?"I asked which she laughed at.
"You're paranoid. Even if Kevin loses his sanity, he will not run away. For sure if he does, he will run but it surely will be towards you. Now, smile. It's your grand entrance, my love."She emboldened. Before Arie left me for her own entrance, she pecked a kiss on my cheek. "I love you, Cailee. Happy Wedding day, sister."
I can't cry. I might ruin my makeup. Then I'll look ugly and Kevin will then change his mind. Tsk. It really is true—what I read in magazines. Wedding jitters make every bride paranoid.
There's the cue. It's my turn to walk on the walkway covered with flowers thrown by the little flower girls. In the middle are my parents waiting for me.
"Oh princess, you are so beautiful."Mom chirped in after taking my hand. She also kissed me on the cheek and embraced me.
"Thanks mom."I glanced to the other side where dad is. "Oh daddy, why are you crying?"
"I just can't believe it. My babygirl's getting married."
"Dad, even if Arie and I will both have our own families, we will still be your baby. Well, unless if you want to make another Arianne and Cailee."I joked which made him laugh though. "Mom, dad, I love you."
"We love you, sweetheart. Now, let's go. Kevin's waiting."
While I walked with my parents of each side, my eyes are pierced to my man, my handsome badboy. My Kevin Alex Chen. He did the same. While waiting for me, Kevin just gazed at me like what he did on the day he told me that it was still me that he loves. No blinking. Not even a second was spared. Kevin didn't allow me to be out of his sight. Then slowly, his charming smile adorned with fascination formed on his lips. Memories from history replayed in my head. Who would thought that even when we parted ways, our path will still lead us to one destination.
"Tito, tita. Thank you for bringing this woman to this world."Kevin told dad jokingly after giving each other's back a tap.
On my end, I exchanged hugs with tito Tommy and tita Karla. And of course, the best man of the century, Kevin's childhood bestfriend, André.
He hugged me for almost a minute."Thank you, Cailee."
"Hey. Just relax. It will turn out fine. I promise."I assured him after pulling myself away.
Kevin tapped him on the shoulder. They exchanged nods before my groom faced me. Taking my hand gracefully, he kissed it. He's supposed to be walking to me to the designed altar but the jerk was caught in a moment. He embraced me instead.
"My love."He whispered. "I love you."
"I love you."I replied before we both walked towards the minister.
As the sun went down painting the skies with riffraffs in pink and orange, Kevin and I had our own beautiful sunset. This is going to be the end of our first book. There will be more sunrise for us in the coming tomorrows and there's only one thing that's certain, Kevin and I will be together to welcome it.
There can really be bad love stories. But there will never be bad love.
Love. Love is everything except bad.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (Corinthians 13: 4-7)
