Ella quickly folded the letter and pushed it up, under the sleeve of her dress and ran out of her room. She crossed many two corridors when she heard two male voices, it was King Weber and his son Edward. Ella quietly stood behind a giant pillar and waited for them to pass.
''Yes, we will talk about it with King John, Edward.'' Weber was saying.
''Are you sure it would be a wise move, father?'' Edward asked. ''I mean, Asteria and Vyamar will have much more strong alliance.''
''Trust me, I know what we are doing.'' King Weber replied. They passed the pillar without noticing the presence of the girl standing behind it.
After making sure that they were gone, Ella ran towards the main hall where ceremony was taking place. She thought that it was wise to stay quiet for the moment. The ceremony ended and the people started to enjoy the music and the food.
Ella and David were dancing with some other couples in the center of the hall when suddenly out of nowhere David pulled Ella's arm and started leading her towards the back exit of the palace.
''Where are we going, David?'' Ella asked trailing behind him.
''You'll see...'' he replied still leading her on. They exited the palace and stood on the stairs in front of it. The both of them stood quietly facing each other.
''You know, Ella, I have to go somewhere now. I have some work assigned to me.'' The sun was now slowly setting now.
''Are you going to Asteria or Vyamar?'' Ella said crossing her arms, thinking that David was aware of the rebel plan.
His brows furrowed, ''No, I'm not. You see the task is very important and... I might not return.'' he said looking down at his feet. Ella scrunched her brows, confused. ''And I want to try something because I might not get the chance again.''
Ella was just staring at the black haired boy in front of her and trying to figure what was going on in his confused mind. David held Ella's one hand in his' and with other, he cupped her face then he leaned in and placed a soft and gentle kiss on her lips.
He slowly pulled back leaving Ella confused and shocked. ''Always wanted to do it, since the night I saw you.'' He spoke quietly.
''Wh-what?'' Ella stuttered.
''I know we haven't talked much and neither know a lot about each other but something about you attracts me. And no, it's no your physical beauty, it's just your soul..... I have not met a person like you before.'' he paused for a moment.
''I-I did not know about this, David.'' Ella said quietly.
''I know you don't.'' he looked at her. ''The point is, it's fine that if you don't have feelings for me, it not always works on the both sides. But just- just keep this in mind that someone in this world loves you for who you are.'' He descended down the stairs leaving Ella on the first step.
''It was really nice seeing you again, Ella. I'm sorry if I scared you with that sudden kiss. I hope to see you again if fate has written some more lines for us together.'' he said and turned around to leave, but Ella suddenly ran down the steps and held his hand.
''I am looking forward to spend some time with you to get to know you better, Edward.'' Ella said meekly. David smiled at her kissed her hand and went on his way.
Ella decided to stay outside for a while. She was just strolling outside the palace when she saw someone's silhouette leaning against the palace's wall. The appearance looked all to familiar but the shoulder length hair were shorter than before.
''What are you doing here, Xavier?'' she asked least bothered by the person.
''Good evening to you too, Ella.'' he replied with a smile.
