CHAPTER 7: SECRET LESSON

PART 3:

Ella read the letter several times happily and then burnt it because Nate had told her to. After breakfast they left their parents to do the work they were doing and then went outside in the garden. Aston spotted Eric sitting under a tree and reading a book.

''Hey! Eric what are you doing?'' Aston called.

''I suppose what I am doing is called reading.'' he smiled looking at them.

''Come over here you have the rest of your life to read.'' said James.

Eric stood up and walked towards them. They all sat near the fountain in the middle of the garden. Amber sitting nearest to the fountain started making spherical balls of water that floated in mid air. Ella was looking at them really amused and James was twirling Amber's hair around his finger.  Aston laid down and rested his head in Ella's lap and she started gently stroking his hair.

''I think I like that Jade girl I met at the reception...'' Aston said closing his eyes.

''Be careful of love at first sight.'' Eric said opening his book again.

''What can you say about it? Your'e already with Elizabeth and its been two years.'' Aston said rubbing his eyes lightly.

''Not anymore, we broke up last night.'' Eric said turning a page.

''What?! How?!'' Everyone jumped at his sentence except for Ella and Amber.

''Ask her.'' Eric said giving a pointy look to Ella.

''Eric, I'm telling you for the last time. I did nothing. Amber was with me all the time, ask her.'' Ella said trying to control her anger.

''Yeah, she is right. We were just talking when she came and started asking creepy questions.'' Amber said in Ella's defense.

''Yeah, like crazy ideas just jump into her.'' Eric said carelessly waving his hand at his sister.

''You have a poor taste in women, Eric. Sorry to say but that's true.'' Amber carelessly rolled her eyes.

''Oh, I know what kind of taste you had once. It's a miracle how it changed.''Eric snapped at his sister.

Amber looked at her brother and spoke coolly, ''At least mine changed but you never grow up.''

''Amber, Eric that is enough already.'' Thomas jumped in their conversation.

''I wasn't even talking to her.'' Eric complained. ''I was talking to her.'' he glared at Ella.

James sighed and spoke, ''Eric, you never knew Ella, how can you say that she did and said all of those things. She is my sister, I know her better than anyone. She is better than that.''

''Let me speak for myself James.'' Ella cut her brother. ''Look, maybe she was the one cheating on you and wanted to end everything but she was looking for a reason so she found me. And I on the other hand have much more important things to do in my life rather than drooling over people who I barely know.'' Ella said losing her temper this time. ''And I am not even slightly interested in men who have no respect for women and don't even know how to speak to them. If I were in your place I would spend my entire life alone than being with a pretty doll face fake-it-all.'' At that moment Ella realized she had gone too far. They all just gaped at her in shock.

''Ella!'' she felt James' hand on her arm.

Then she realized what she had done. Wind was blowing very hard around them just because she lost her temper. Her overwhelming emotions had triggered her powers.
