CHAPTER 27: MISTAKE

Ella's punishment continued for the next day but it was more severe than the last one, at the end of the day her back was full of cuts, bruises and whip lashes. But she was patient, she just had to wait for the next afternoon to come and then she will be free from this hell. She had lost so much of her blood that she couldn't even heal her self with her powers.

The next day Janet came in Ella's room with breakfast tray. Ella looked at her and shook her head, ''You know I can't eat anything in this state, then why bother?'' she asked.

Janet bit her lip, ''You haven't eaten anything in three days and I'm really worried about you.'' she replied.

''Lets not talk about these depressed things, I've endured a lot of punishments in past, I will survive this one too.'' Ella said wincing as she moved away from the wall she was leaning against. ''Tell me, are you ready for the task I gave you for today?'' Ella said changing the subject.

''Anything for you, My Lady.'' Janet replied.

''Leave for the woods as soon as you go out of my room, but be careful, that person is the reason I'm in this state.'' Ella warned her.

After some time the door of Ella's room opened and Queen Miranda came in and Janet left the room with the same full tray. Ella took in a deep breath 'Here we go again.' she told herself. Without a word Queen Miranda walked and stood behind Ella with the same whip in her right hand,

''Lets continue, did he order you to kill someone?'' The first whip of the day landed on Ella's back. But she had become so numb that it didn't hurt a lot anymore.

''If he did, then who are you supposed to kill?'' and then another whip.

''How many times do I have to tell you?'' Ella said gasping, ''He is just a friend! Nothing more! He didn't tell me to kill anyone!'' Ella remained steadfast on her point.

''You are still lying. I don't believe you.'' Queen Miranda said without an emotion.

''When did you ever believe me?'' Ella replied.

Another whip was about to make its way to Ella's back when the door suddenly burst open and the whip flew out of Queen Miranda's hand. Ella looked towards the door and there stood a weak Queen Harriet.

''Are you out of your mind Miranda?! What on earth are you doing?'' she said walking into the room towards Ella.

''Harriet, I need some answers from her and she just simply tells lies again and again.'' Queen Miranda replied her sister coldly.

''Amber just told me what you are doing to her but I need explanations.'' Queen Harriet said firmly.

''You need explanations? Fine, then listen. Whenever she left the castle saying 'I am going for a walk in the woods' she always went to meet Nathaniel.'' Queen Miranda pressed the last word.

''What?!'' Queen Harriet gasped. In the mean time Amber ran into the room and said, ''They are back from hunt-'' she stopped when she saw Ella's condition.

Tattered clothes, blood all around, a weak Ella unable to move laying on the floor, and her back, oh- it was not a sight worth seeing. She just stood at the door wide eyed not -wanting or able- to move. Then finally Queen Miranda spoke with amusement in her tone,

''Well we have a surprise for them, don't we?'' with that she left the room leaving no choice for Harriet and Amber except to follow her.

''What? I don't believe it. I will talk to her myself!'' King Desmond said after listening to his wife.

''Do what you please, Desmond. I won't stop you. But isn't it enough already? She knew what was going to happen at the wedding! She talked to that damned bastard!'' she replied. King Desmond walked up to his daughter's room leaving everyone in the royal hall.
