Next day Ella woke up to a familiar scene. Eric's arms around her as he slept soundly. Ella smiled at his sleeping form for some time and then decided to wake him up.
''Wake up, Eric.'' she said politely, moving her fingers in his hair. ''Come on, its morning.''
''I'm sleeping.'' Eric groaned in answer.
''I know you were sleeping and now that you've answered that means you are awake.'' Ella said poking his cheek lightly.
''Oh, you have discovered something.'' Eric said making fun of Ella.
''Alright, fine. You get some more sleep and I'm going down to have some breakfast.'' she said getting up. She yelped when Eric's strong arms pulled her down again.
''Don't go.'' he said in his morning raspy voice.
''I am not going anywhere. I just want something to eat.'' she replied.
Eric sighed, ''Alright, lets go.'' he said unwillingly.
The two of them went down to the main hall for breakfast and found Nathaniel already sitting in his chair with some papers scattered in front of him.
''Well, someone's up early.'' she said from behind him. But Nathaniel didn't reply. She moved sideways to see what made her brother so busy that he didn't reply. She saw that his brother was sleeping with his mouth slightly apart.
Ella sighed and looked at Eric and spoke, ''And what made me think that he is a morning person.'' Gently she shook Nathaniel by his shoulder and he quickly opened his eyes.
''What is it?'' he asked as though it was an emergency situation.
''Nothing, just waking you up.'' Ella chirped. In return she earned groans and glares from her brother. ''What?'' she asked innocently while she and Eric took seats.
After some time of talking everyone else arrived at the table. Amber was sitting at Ella's right and was talking to Aston while she drank the fresh orange juice from her glass. Ella noticed that she was talking a lot this morning.
''Hey, you alright?'' Ella asked her in hush tone.
''Yeah, I'm fine. Why? Is something wrong?'' she asked.
''You've been behaving rather oddly for sometime.'' Ella said. ''First you didn't speak at all and now you are talking as though nothing has happened.''
''Trust me, I'm fine.'' Amber replied with a bright smile. But Ella saw through it... it was a fake smile.
''Are you sure you don't want to share anything? I mean its alright if you tell me.'' Ella asked worriedly.
''Hey. don't worry. I'm perfect, as always.'' Amber replied. ''Well by the way, how did you and him go?'' she said glancing at Eric.
''We are back.'' Ella said looking down at her plate hiding her, now, red cheeks.
Amber laughed and said, ''I need to tell you this, I really do believe in miracles.'' and Ella laughed along her.
Out of nowhere Nathaniel got up from his seat, ''After breakfast, I want you all to meet me in the throne room.'' he announced quickly and left the royal hall. Everyone stared at his back questioningly.
After the breakfast everyone left for the throne room as Nathaniel had told them to. They found him facing the two chairs in the center of the room with his back to the entrance door.
''I discovered something.'' he said when he sensed them entering the room. Everyone exchanged glances, waiting for Nathaniel to say some thing else.
''In the memory that I showed you all, Alexavier had mentioned that he was immortal.'' he said quietly.
