"That's all for today. We have an exam coming up next week, be sure to study" Professor Edwards explained "See you all later" he dismissed the class
Everyone exited, but Kyla stayed behind.
"Professor, can I talk to you really quick?" she asked
"Sure Kyla, wassup?"
"I noticed my grade dropped in this class and I was wondering what I could do to bring it up." she stood at his desk
"Well, I hold tutoring sessions on Saturdays at 2pm at the diner." he put his papers away
"Ok, I'll be there this Saturday." she said
"I look forward to seeing you" he nodded with a smile
"You too"
Kyla's phone rang as she exited the class.
"Yeah?" she answered
"Mekai said come over. Why is he calling my phone to tell you that?" she chuckled
"I blocked him on mine. Tell him I'm leaving campus now." Kyla walked to her car
"Ok, I hope everything turns out ok." Laura said
"Me too" Kyla got everything situated and started the car
"If it doesn't, you know we'll work through it. I got your back no matter the outcome."
"I appreciate that, likewise." she headed to her old apartment

"Where are they?" Kyla put on a tough act, feeling like it'd help her control her natural pull of attraction to Mekai
"In the kitchen. Come in" he opened the door wider
"Just give me my results so I can go." she reached her hand out
"I know you still hate me, but can we please open them together? I need you with me" Mekai's eyes held all the hurt he was going through
Kyla stared at him for a few seconds with her natural mug "...I don't hate you, I'm not gonna keep telling you that" she walked in
Mekai kept quiet, walking behind her to the kitchen.
"Hurry up" she gave him his envelope
They both opened theirs at the same time.
"I'm good" Mekai said
"Me too" they showed each other the papers
"I'm happy you ok. I was worried about your results more than mine." Mekai finally expressed
"I was worried more about yours too." she stared into his eyes, feeling herself get lost in them
"Ky, I'm so sorry for even putting you through this."
"I gotta go" she turned to leave, but he grabbed her and kissed her
It was like the kiss held every ounce of love they had for each other. They held each other close as they felt their bodies becoming even more strongly addicted to one another.
"I can't" she pulled away with tears down her face
"Sunshine, I'm sorry. Please" he followed her as she headed towards the door
"That doesn't change the fact you cheated, Kai. For a second time at that." She shook her head, placing her hand on the doorknob
Mekai placed his hand on the door, closing it back soon as she opened it. "I need you..." he said, standing behind her small frame
"You apparently don't. Seeing as how you cheated again." She was now turned around facing him
"They were accidents, you know none of them meant anything. I swear if I could take it all back, I would."
"I wish you could, so things could go back to how they used to be...I miss you so much" she finally confessed
"Then come back home, we'll work this out. I'll do anything."
"I need time...I wanna be able to work on myself alone before I try to build a future with you."
"I hate that I can't argue with that." sadness showed in his face
"You can't...maybe this space will be good for us."
"I doubt it, but if it means I got a possibility of getting you back, I'm all for it." he stared down at her, moving his hand off the door
"I'll see you." she said, opening the door
"I love you, Kyla." he said, making her stop in her tracks
"I love you too, Mekai" she gave him one last look before going down the apartment hall
Once they departed, a wave of relief felt like it rushed over them both. Knowing they didn't have an STD and now had the possibility of getting back together were great news.
Kyla called Laura after she got herself together in the car
"How'd everything go? You burnin'?"
"Nah, I ain't burnin' bitch." Kyla chuckled
"Congratulations. What about Kai?"
"He's fine... we kissed"
"I kinda knew you would, y'all asses probably feening for each other. So what are y'all doing now, relationship wise?"
"An undetermined break."
"Undetermined, why?"
"This break determines if we get back together or not." Kyla headed to the grocery store
"Well whatever decision you make, I support it. Now get here so we can smoke and celebrate the fact that you not gonna be G Herpo or STD Herpboy" Laura made a STD joke
"Ho, get off my line" Kyla laughed, hanging up
Was up writing this at 3:11am, I couldn't sleep. At least one of us gets to gain from this, I'm gonna' be sleepy later.
